Giddy Ups — Restaurant in Buda

I went here on open mic night a few weeks ago after work. It's right next to my house so convenient ~. The atmosphere was very friendly and brightly lit for a bar, not the hill billy dive setting I was secretly hoping for. B

My issue was they don't serve doubles. Normally I would write this off as an odd rule. But then the bartender followed up by giving me a rum and coke minus the rum. It definitely came off like she was trying to cut me off without actually cutting me off which is an odd thing to do when I've only had 3 drinks in an hour and a half maybe 2. And yes the invisible rum...

We came here on a Wednesday open mic night. The open micers were awesome, belting out old school country with duets and trios on guitars, harmonicas and vocals. Had no idea what to expect and WOW is this place the definition of a hidden gem.

The building, patrons, and decor combined makes it feel like you're living in simpler times -- that OG Austin vibe that attracted folks here pre-Dell/Tesla. Its like you got spit out of a time machine with the dial turned to 1980s.

Really great blues jam on Tuesday nights starting around 8 and goes on til around midnight. Everyone is friendly, barmaid is great and the atmosphere is really laid back. Awesome outdoor back patio area to hang out and enjoy the stars if you want. It's kind of like hanging out at a friend's house. Parking lot is a little rough (gravel) and the restrooms are weird - the women's having just a curtain to cover the single stall. There is no food, except for microwave popcorn, so don't go...
