This had been my go-to laundromat for the last 4 years. After my recent experience there, I will never go back. I had previously used this laundromat because there were several big positives: it's large and there are a lot of machines, you use a card instead of quarters, you can refill the card with either cash or a credit card, and the facility was clean. Recently, I had noticed that more machines seemed to be out of order, and that there was more and more soap build up where you put in your detergent for more machines. On my last trip to Burbank Laundry, it started off normal - I loaded and started my laundry as usual. I realized I forgot the dryer sheets at home, so I went next door to 7-11 to see if they had any (they did!), then came back and started eating a snack I brought with me. When my watch alarm went off to say my wash was done, I started moving things to the dryer. One of the machines had a message that I hadn't seen before and seemed to have stopped mid cycle, so I asked the woman at the window for help. She was with a male worker I hadn't seen before, and said to go to the machine and she would be over in a minute, which was no problem. I went to the machine and another woman who I have seen there frequently came over. She aggressively said "You overfilled it. You put to much in. That's what that code is." I said "oh, ok" and started to ask what to do next. She didn't let me finish and cut me off, starting to reprimand me like a bad child in an angry tone. The woman from the window and the male employee came over and stood by with their arms folded, glaring. The woman continued to aggressively reprimand me (in front of all the other customers I might add). I finally said "can I take some out and restart it?" And she angrily said "NO! Move it over there!" and gestured to another machine. I again said I could just take some out. (I had already paid for the machine and put my soap in, I didn't want to pay for a second machine and use more soap, plus I just wanted all of this to be over. I didn't say any of this at the time because I didn't want to aggravate the situation, since even a quiet ok seemed to aggravate the woman). The woman than again refused and said I had to move my laundry to the other washer, and to get her when I did that and she would start the machine. I again said ok, and watched as the other two employees shook their heads in disgust, with the woman again stating I overfilled it before walking away. I unloaded my wet laundry into a basket to move it, and turned around to see the angry woman standing at the machine she had indicated glaring at me. She acted as if she was a security guard watching a shoplifter. I don't know what she thought I was going to do that warranted this, especially since I had been calm, quiet, and had not argued once through the entire encounter. I moved my things over without a word and then sat down quietly fighting back tears from the extreme humiliation. I finally had to walk outside to calm down, and didn't even want to come back in the building. I finished my laundry as quickly as I could. Before leaving, I asked how to cash out the laundry card since I knew I would not be returning after that treatment, and I was told I would have to speak with a manager, who was not there, and they would not cash it out unless it was under a very small amount (I believe $1 or $2). When I got home, I told my husband about the experience, breaking down sobbing. I begged him to go to the laundry and cash out the card because I was so humiliated by the staff that I dreaded even going inside the building. Thankfully he went after work one day, and he said the manager was resistant but finally refunded the little over $8 we had left on the card. I'm appalled at the way the situation was handled, and would caution anyone from using this facility, especially as I see a lot of similar experiences in reviews recently. There is a professional way to address the error, and I had no issue with taking responsibility for overfilling, but I did not deserve to be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI found this laundry mat on a humbug and I have been going to them ever since. The location is in a good spot and mostly has a lot of parking. There is an event hall right next to them so when whenever they do have an event they share the parking lot and it gets tough to find parking space.
For the inside of the mat. Everyone is friendly that goes there and the staff is very helpful when you have a question. This laundry mat also has a fluff and fold service. The one thing about this laundry mat is that it is NOT COIN OPERATED but is CARD OPERATED and so you have to use their machine to place a balance on the card to wash clothes.
The only downside that I very much dislike about this place is that the dryers are MAAAAAAAD expensive. And im not talking a $1 to dry... The dryers cost 85 cents PER 10 MINUTES ... So you are looking at 1.70 for a regular load and quite a few bucks for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place used to be okay, but lately the ladies working here havenāt been too nice. Maybe they are man haters, who knows. Attitude and just attitude for just the simplest requests, like just asking for the key for the bathroom when itās NOT occupied or the dryers are not reading my card, can you help me? And Iām asking nicely for the help, not being a jerk either. I worked retail and customer service for 20 years all over the USA so I know to be nice. Itās always attitude followed by a smart remark. The kiosks only take cash, Visa and Mastercard with a $10.00 minimum. So if you have AMEX like I do, kiss those SkyMiles goodbye.
