Taqueria El Tapatio Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Burbank

This place is very hit or miss for a Mexican restaurant. It really depends on the items you're getting and if you know which meat to get. I say this as someone that has tried almost everything on their menu.

Asada is either just fine or DRY. This is for all of their menu items

Carnitas are either just right or awful. No in between.

Breakfast burritos are not great. White cheese instead of cheddar cheese, salsa is lacking, very small for the price when compared to other burritos in the area such as Eat N Park, Norms, Daves, Larry's Chili Dog, etc

Sopes are ALWAYS undercooked somehow. They are always rubbery and not very good.

Cocktail de Camaron is always good. This item has never disappointed

Menudo and pozole on the weekends is pretty good and would recommend

Taco plate is good, and they have always been solid but depends on the meat. Sometimes they are dry and sometimes they are fine.

Overall, this place is fine but is nowhere near one of the best Mexican food places in Burbank. MexCocina is far better, and even Alfredos is far better...

I've been coming to this place since I moved to burbank, the food is good I must admit, but why 2 stars? the last 3 times I've ordered menudo I always ask in advance if they can Include the hominy (grano) and the lady on the phone assures me that they will, well guess what? those 3 times when I get home and I open the soup it doesn't have it! the last time I even asked the lady when I picked up the order if she made sure to include it and she said yes..I get home and nothing..I was upset because it is now 3x they don't do it right. I called and the lady who answered told.me to come back next weekend and ask for the woman who took my order so they could give me one at no charge. I go the following weekend and I mention this to the woman at the register, and she says that she has to call her manager to see what they can do? for a $12 soup? I hate asking for things but I was really upset about 3x not being done right. I told the lady to forget about it and I went on and placed another order....

My dad went to get us breakfast and after ordering he noticed that instead of the staff focusing and making his order the staff decided to make and serve two customers after him instead , which made him concern about how his order was gonna come out . Not only was his concern correct , the food was clearly over cooked and burned, it seemed as if half the ingredients were burnt away from neglect of focusing on one order at a time . That fact that the staff decided to take care of two customers , that came in after my dad had already placed his order , tells you a lot .We believe that they burnt our order and tried remaking it with the burt food as my dad was there for over an 1 hr. Think twice before spending your money here and think twice if you think this a good place to feed your family, this place is going down hill if it hasn't already. All our food was burnt and disgusting we couldn't eat it because we started to felt sick and actually started vomiting instead. WORST...
