This store is always busy and messy (no filth). Typical Dollar tree. The store in Mt. Vernon is usually dirty not just messy and often has spilled messes dried to the walkway (Went once and then a week later and the same dried mess was still there and more was added, like it had not been mopped in at least a week, another customer made the same observation as I, I've not gone back to the Mt. Vernon store since.) Both stores need more ppl to check out customers, the Burlington store does seem to move faster bc ppl work together vs the Mt. Vernon store and the lady worker (I was told she was the manager) was smoking outside a little ways down from the door and left one person to man a busy checkout ..always a long wait in line for 2 or 3 items its not worth the wait but if getting more Its worth a few minutes but not 15 to 20 minutes wait bc only one line is opened especially Fri-sunday. Both stores usually have different options on craft supplies etc. Maybe have some clean store bonuses or consider your managers that will only just be the manager and doing nothing to help out the crew which was what I observed in Mt. Vernon. (Js) Ye it was near @xmas but knowing it's going to be busy and not having back ups to work is crazy. I haven't gone back to see if it's changed) Good luck, ik its hard to find good workers but most all of the employees do have good work ethic at the Burlington store and help each other. šŖā¤ļø Ty, it says much for the managers that are too displaying good work ethic...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBy far the worst customer service of any local dollar trees I've ever shopped. I've been to this location many times and every time there's only one cashier working. I waited in line for one gal ringing up what seemed to be an order for a good friend if not a family member of hers and after a couple of minutes she said "the cashier on number 3 can help you I'm closed" so I went to number 3 only 2 costumers in front of me but both had many items. So I waited awhile and looking behind me another 5 or 6 people lined up in back of me. Looking around the store while waiting I see this same cashier who told me she was closed walking around.. straightening up items on shelves... Priority for her I guess, not the customers waiting to check out. When it was my turn I asked the cashier if he had anyone coming to help. He simply stated " I'm the only cashier here." I paid and said, voice raised enough for the other employee to hear me, "I hope you get some help soon your line is half way down the isle." I walked slowly to the exit door and kept looking to see if the other girl was going to help but evidently the shelves she was " working" on was her only concern. I understand when places get busy.. I don't mind waiting. But when there are other employees that are so blatantly lazy and have this I don't care attitude, who see the lines pile up and don't do a damn thing????? How do they keep their jobs? I'd fire them in a heart beat! I won't be returning to this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLocation wise itās in a nice spot. Relatively close to various other services and at least for me personally well inside walking distance to my apartment.
For the most part, itās a reasonably well stocked store, but unfortunately, itās not perfect.
For one thing, the food choices are relatively minimal. I understand that you canāt exactly get a whole lot of stuff for under five dollars nowadays but it would be nice if there was a little bit more variety in some of their choices. Their freezer spot is also seemingly always about half empty. And the stuff that it does have look more like items that she would find at a gas station or 711 store.
Thereās also the fact that theyāre never seems to be much in the way of staff around. And itās busiest. Iāve seen only two of the check stands open at one time. But Iāve never seen Moore more than I think. Three staff members at one point. The staff members that I have met are all relatively nice individuals. Although there doesnāt appear to be any sense of urgency in the mentality of some of them, especially the manager last time I was there the cashier at one of the check stands, had to call for the manager twice before the manager exited their office and came out onto the sales floor
All in all for very basic necessities or some of these small seasonal items itās definitely not the worst. But donāt go in thinking that you can use it supplant a traditional...
