Stayed during COVID pandemic. Everything was well cleaned and staff observed following all protocols.
Everyone was friendly. Hotel appears recently updated, which adds to the cleanliness perception. We stayed in a one-bedroom king suite with a jetted tub in the bathroom. Spacious. My wife loved the stylish desk lamp. Wants one for home.
My only complaints is the separate bedroom did not have its own HVAC unit. You have to keep the door open and get ambient heating/cooling from the Living Room. They did have a baseboard electric heater in the bedroom, but it's so close to the bed that it's not really usable. And that would not help when cooling is needed. I'm not sure I would want to stay in this room type in the summer. I also was not fond of the mattress. Although it felt comfortable enough when I climbed into bed, I woke up with a backache.
One neat thing is how they are handling the complimentary breakfast during COVID. They give you at check-in a personal menu for every guest in your room. You fill out the selection card of all the available items what you would like in your breakfast bag. Which appears to include all the items they normally would have stocked on their breakfast buffet. You then select the time you want to pick it up. Then you turn into the front desk your selections the night before and its ready for you the next morning at your pre-determined time.
I was not happy with my selection of turkey sausage patties. They did not have a good favor. I've had a lot of good turkey sausages, so they did not meet my expectations. I also chose a cheese omelet. Which was no longer warm. It did not re-heat well in our microwave. My yogurt and banana were great though. So the breakfast is convenient with a good selection. However, I would definitely not order the turkey sausage again.
Though there is a lot of verbiage about the negatives in this review, they were minor in the scheme of things. We received a great AAA rate and with already depressed COVID rates, we were able to get the most expensive room type for less than a standard room would be normally. This created an amazing value.
The location is extremely convenient to get to anywhere in Skagit County, at the crossroads of the two most major highways. It's in Burlington, just minutes away from Mount Vernon, Sedro-Woolley, Anacortes and Whidbey Island. The Swinomish Casino is about 12 minutes away, and their restaurants are open during Washington State's COVID...
Read moreThe room was clean, and the location was good as it was off the freeway. However, the customer service treatment was extremely poor, and the noise was horrible. ||||I made my reservation a month ago for multiple rooms. When I realized I need a connecting room, I immediately called the hotel. I was told they was put my request on my reservation. At 4:00 P.M. of the day of my arrival, I realized I will not arrive at the establishment until 7ish, I called the establishment and was informed I will not get a reconnecting room. And the room will not be next to each other. The room will be several hundred yard apart. I was already disappointed I didn't get a connecting room. However, I was extremely upset when I check-in, I discovered that the two rooms are indeed several hundred yards apart and it will be separate by the elevator. My room was next to the elevator and the other room was on top of the dining room. Throughout the night, the elevator kept waking me up. I previously stay at this establishment and had an exceptional experience. Now I am regretting my decision.|||| If I am in Burlington, WA, I will seek other establishments. Or I will drive a little further north or south of Burlington and staying at other establishments. I understand a connecting room may not feasible, but I find it hard to believe that the hotel cannot be courtesy enough to put the two rooms next to each other or across from each other. Additionally, the establishment did not have the courtesy to call me and inform me I will not get a connecting room and the two rooms will not be side by side or across from each other. Throughout this ordeal, the hotel failed to apologize except said we may not be able to accommodate your request. With the amount of money, I paid for this establishment, I could have stay at four- or...
Read moreI made my reservation one day before my stay and the only room available for myself, my husband, and 14 year old son was a room with a king size bed (which we needed because my husband is tall) and a living space with a sofa hide-a-bed. It was the best room I have ever stayed in in a hotel for a extremely fair/comparable price. The king bed was in a bedroom type space giving my husband and I our own private space. The bed was extremely comfortable and there was a dresser and closet space in the bedroom. The living space was fabulous as we hung out as a family watching television together (there was a second tv in the bedroom which was great to have two tvs). This area was great for giving my son his own space in the evening to sleep in. In addition, there was a refrigerator, microwave and sink created a small kitchenette area. It was fabulous. They even provided dish soap, paper plates, a coffee machine and a dining room table. Plus in the living area there was a dresser and extra mirror and counter area allowing others to get ready outside of the bathroom. The space was set up well with the living room area kitchen dresser and dining table it seemed spacious and not crowded. The hotel was quiet and we could not even tell it was fully booked. The breakfast was fabulous and the food was so good. The chooses were amazing, biscuits and gravy, omelets, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, cream cheese, fruit, etc. and there was still plenty of food to choose from at 9:45 a.m. The swimming pool is a perfect size and very clean. The staff was friendly and very helpful. It was the best hotel experience I have every had. A great...
