The email i sent gamestop in reference to their awful customer service: recently made the horrible choice to buy a Christmas present for my son from your crooked company. I purchased the ps4 $50 gift card combo that you offered on black Friday and have been regretting that choice every since. Received the ps4 in a timely manner and that's working wonderfully thank god sony knows how to make a usable product. However this gift card issued by your company is another issue entirely, I never received the information for this and as it was a web only gift card you can see how that might present a problem. Between Christmas and Tuesday January 8th I've emailed your customer service several times about this 3 to be exact and never received a response other than a generic email automatically generated. Finally I had to take the time out of my day to call your customer service and speak to a real person where I was told the gift card had been accessed (which is oddly impossible since I had never received any of the information necessary to do this) they couldn't tell if any of the $50 had been spent (again impossible for me to do) and they would need to investigate for 2-3 days to see if any of the money had been spent. At that point I started to get really irritated as now I'm being told the gift card information that I never received might have been used.....by who? And how would they have gotten access to this information, I mean unless someone had access to that information, say, from your companies end. As here we are 3 days later with no response from your company!!!! So please rest assured that what seems like a scam will not be ignored, it appears to be your intention to not send the proper info, ignore customers issues brought to your attention via email, lie and say the card was accessed in order to waste another 2-3 days to investigate (fyi-i can check the balance of a gift card in less than 1 minute, but somehow you, a large corporation can't sort this out) What I have gleaned from my experience is that your hope is that people will simply forget about the gift card or not want to waste they're time, as I have now wasted ALLOT of my time on this, your scam will not work with me, at this point I will be contacting the better business bureau, and paypal (thank god I did the transaction through a CREDITED company that might actually care about customer service. I'm truly disgusted with your companies lack of concern for customer service and I assure you that I will never purchase something from your company again or any affiliates of your company. And we all know that old saying about how a customer that receives good service will probably only tell 1 or 2 people but a customer that received bad service will tell everyone they can, and let me assure you I will inform everyone that will listen about your companies awful customer service. I'm sure I'll never receive a response to this email but rest assured I'll be sharing a copy of this on every social media site I belong to and hopefully tag your company in them so future customers will have enough common sense to shop elsewhere. Thanks for the colossal waste of my time and please be sure one way or another I'll get my $50.

Read moreI went in to trade in 6 controllers. Went well until later I noticed a warranty charge for something that was never offered to me or discussed during my transaction. I complained to Gamestops customer service twice online including showing them my receipt for proof. They told me the only way I can get a refund is by going back into the store. I told them that I have a painful back injury and that's very difficult for me to do that but they told me that was the only way to get a refund. So today even though its very painful for me, I make the trip to the store with my receipt, explaining I traded in my controllers and got charged for some warranty thing I know nothing about and the guy at the counter refused to give me a refund for the charge.
So not only is this store slapping on additional charges people may not be aware of but even with a receipt, they are refusing to give you your money back when you catch them.
Looking through other reviews, it appears this store has been scamming their customers like this for a while now.
Edit: Its been 2 1/2 months now and Gamestop has not bothered to apologize to me, acknowledge their wrongdoing, or even attempt to reach out to me to make things right. I filed a formal complaint to the Gamestop Corporation and after telling me they would look into it, I've...

As a similar experience to the review before me, CHECK YOUR TOTAL BEFORE RINGING OUT. The woman at this location threw on 3 warranties on the 3 used games we were purchasing without asking. She also tried to ring us up before even pulling the discs for the case. Lucky for us our card was giving us issues, and she realized that she was missing a disc for before we had finalized the payment. We opted to just leave because this felt like a shady business practice to add on a warranty without confirming the guest wanted it.
That being said when we were there a woman was buying a PS5 as a gift for someone. She offered some $170ish warranty and she told the customer that without it she would have to out of pocket spend $100+ to ship back the console to Japan for the base level warranty through Sony (which we found out with a little digging that warranty shipping cost is covered by Sony).
I guess you can’t slap on a $170 warranty without it going unnoticed. But they certainly will try to charge you unknowingly given the chance. There are plenty of other moral gamestops that won’t do this. AVOID...
