Taco Del Mar — Restaurant in Burlington

Never again!

We visited the location for dinner. Some of us wanted Tex-mex, some wanted something else, but we obviously all wanted to sit together. So we decided to order our own food and eat at an establishment close by.

When we were done, one of my daughters had some used napkins in her hand, so I told her to just go into Taco Del Mar and throw it out there - we were closer to their doors by this time. She did so, but as she was leaving, the older female worker started giving her a hard time about using their garbage. The lady even came outside and started yelling at me. I told her we were just throwing away garbage; since we were customers I thought it would be ok.

To prevent it from escalating further, I walked away and proceeded to get my family into our vehicle.

The lady continued to yell about having cameras and then went back inside. Was it over? Nope! She came back out with used napkins - I’m guessing she went into the garbage bin to look for what my daughter threw away - proceeded to yell that the garbage was labeled with their neighbor’s brands, and then she threw the garbage on my hood!

The gentleman in the vehicle next to ours must have seen the whole thing and was probably an employee of the neighboring establishment. He got out of his vehicle, took the garbage off our hood, waved and chuckled at us, and was kind enough to throw it away in his restaurant.

I hope the Taco Del Mar owners see this, and post the video from their camera so we can all see how it went down.

Objectively, food was alright, but service was horrendous.

If you’ve got some free time and want to potentially experience a live berating of customers, maybe come here, park your car out front and wait for some fireworks to start. If you’re hungry, grab some wings from next door.

I went late in the afternoon and got loaded nachos. They make nachos the same way there as my 9 year old did at home. Chips, cheese, chips, cheese and microwave. Then they put beans meat and condiments. I made it a combo which added chips, actual nacho cheese, and a drink. I couldn't understand how the side order of chips comes with nacho cheese but the loaded nachos don't. All of this can be forgiven but when I got the bill it was $18.
