Terrible experience unsafe and not cleaned rooms Do not travel with children or infants and do not expect help or a solution. Please read below for our story of our experience.
Would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a safe stay or a properly sanitized and clean room. We recently booked 2 nights at this hotel for our 8 year old child’s softball tournament. On the second night our child noticed there was 2 small pink pills next to her bed. We immediately called down to the front office to notify them that there was 2 pink pills on our floor. They told us to take a picture and send it to the front office email so they could forward it to there manager. I asked if they could send someone up to remove the pills and clean our room. They responded with “we don’t have anyone to do that sir”. Then I asked if I could speak to there manager and they responded with “our manager is not here and that the manager will be in in the morning and they can figure out what to do in the morning when there manager gets in”. I then asked if we could be moved to another room they responded with “we are currently booked but we will call you back with an answer after we speak with our manager”. After 15 minutes I called back down to the front office to try to figure out what to do they said they talked too the manager and the got us a new room! When they brought us up the keys to our new room and I asked if the new room was the same 2 queen bed room that we had as we had me my wife and my child in our room they responded with actually all we have is a room with one bed and no pull out couch so we would not be compensated for the change and we would have to move into a smaller room for the remainder of our stay. I rejected the offer and asked if they could remove the pills and clean our room this is at 8pm. They said that they would personally remove the pills but they didn’t have a janitor or room service available to clean our room. I asked again if we could call the manager and figure out a solution they said if I came down to the office I could call. When I went downstairs I asked the lady at the front desk if they can call the manager. She quickly hung up the phone on her desk and responded with “I cannot let you call the manager as she isn’t currently working and will not be until the morning”. She also stated that she would send the pictures to her and she will probably look at them sometime tonight. I then called corporate office and gave them a statement and created a case. I went back to our room as the two girls in the front desk couldn’t help us and cleaned and inspected the rest of the room to make sure there wasn’t anything else. In the morning I woke up and went to the front office and asked the two new girls if the manager was in and if I could talk to her, they responded with the girl that had the pictures probably didn’t send them to her and that there manager would not be in until the day after we checked out. I then asked if they had a email or any way that I could contact the manager myself. They gave me card for a male manager and said I could call the phone number on the card. I then called the phone number on the card it rang at the front office and the girl that gave me the card awnsered as it was just the front desk phone number. I then said I would like to check out and they had no problem charging us the full amount and made no attempt to compensate us for our stay. I have made an attempt to email the manager and have no response. We will not be staying at another comfort suites for any of our future travel stays as we travel very often and we are very unhappy with the management and how the situation was handled. We expected a clean and sanitary room and we were vary understanding and patient with resolving the problem. But when the awnser is we are supposed to just deal with it or handle small pink pills on the floor ourself that makes me very suspicious on how well the rooms are actually clean...
Read moreWe are a retired couple and we recently stayed at Comfort Suites Burlington Washington while on vacation visiting western Washington. We checked in with my service dog for seven nights and all went well upon initial check-in, and we declared that we had a service animal with us at that time. We filled out the pet paperwork and were told there would be no pet fee charged because our dog was a service animal. This was as expected. Caleb checked us in. ||When we came back into the lobby after gathering our belongings, the dog barked as we entered the lobby. Caleb immediately stood up and said, “That’s not a service animal, service animals don’t bark. I know what you are trying to do.” He then called me a liar and a scammer. An argument ensued regarding the law and service animals. Caleb insisted that he knew the law and demanded that we show him proof that our dog is a service animal or else be charged a pet fee. I told him again that I didn’t have proof because under Federal and State law I didn’t have to provide any kind of proof or certification, nor was he allowed to ask for it. I told him that I didn’t have to show him anything and that in twelve years of traveling with a service animal had never had an issue. It’s a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act for him to demand any kind of certification or proof. Caleb insisted that he knew the law better than that that I was a liar and a scammer because he had been trained, and that there was a “little white card” that he needed to see else he would charge the pet fee. ||I could not believe how rudely and inhospitable we were being treated and Caleb did in fact illegally charge us a pet fee after we had already checked in.||Then things became worse. Instead of a warm welcome upon entering the hotel lobby each evening as we returned from the day’s outing, Caleb gave us evil stares and/or animated laughter and finger-pointing at each encounter. We were being harassed and bullied and our civil rights were being violated by this insane moron.|| On checkout day we loaded the car and I noticed that we had a flat tire. We had been off-road some in the National Forests that we visited, so I just changed to the spare and didn’t think much more about it that day. After arriving home, I went to have the tire repaired and learned that the tire had been slashed with what the tire guy thought may have been a box cutter.||I didn’t believe for one second that the tire slashing was a random act.||I have since been in contact via email with the Hotel’s property manager, Scott Turbush. All he had to say about it was that he was sorry, but since we didn’t complain during our stay then it was our fault, and that he would refund the pet fee as fair compensation. Fair compensation for what was an illegal charge to our credit card to begin with and nothing more. Turbush also declined my request to discuss this matter by phone rather than just exchanging...
Read moreOverall the room was good. My fiancé and I were in Burlington to attend his daughter's wedding. We stayed in an ADA room, which was nice and spacious. I can't say I was enamored with the computer chair as it was too narrow for me. The bed was comfortable and it was nice that breakfast was included, although I didn't eat anything there. My fiance' did, and that worked for him.
My issues primarily were in the bathroom. We drive from Kellogg, Idaho and wanted to shower before retiring for the night. When I went to open the shower curtain after my shower, the rod fell on my head. It was not attached to the wall at all!
My second bathroom issue was the day we were checking out. My foot slipped on a little bit of water on the floor and I felt hard. In the middle of the bathroom floor is a metal drain exactly like the one in the shower. When I fell, this drain cover, which is not quite flush with the floor, cut my knee. My knee was scraped (not a big deal), cut (I will need a tetanus shot now because I have absolutely no idea how clean that drain was, especially with no housekeeping services provided during our stay), and a big bruise to accompany the swelling. We did report this issue to the front desk, but the only response was, "We're sorry," and "We'll let maintenance know." Frankly, bathroom floors should never be highly polished because they can become even slipper. This especially holds true for an ADA bathroom. Those bathrooms should have a textured or slip resistant surface. As for the shower, there is a curtain and a little rubber flashing at the bottom. It is not sufficient to keep the floor from getting wet. Fortunately I kept the mat in front of the shower. That absorbed the water to prevent it from spreading too far.
Finally, my last issue was when we extended our stay because of issues with traveling over Snoqualmie Pass. We checked and were approved for another stay in our current room. Later we received a call asking us to relocate to another room so another party could have ours. The new room would not have been an ADA room. My fiance declined the move, especially as the employee requesting this move was also the one who had already greenlighted our extended stay a couple of hours prior.
I can say the room was clean, comfortable, and the hotel location was in a convenient location. We were able to get around fairly easily and most things we needed to do/go were in close proximity. I can also say the elevator was slow (closed down at one point - I thought I was going to keel over with the stairs. My fiancé who has cancer, faired even worse with the stairs) and the ADA room was a fair distance away from the elevator. I did notice a hearing impaired room was considerably closer to the elevator, which seems backward. They might want to...
