Rocky's Great Outdoors — Attraction in Burton

First time in the store I was blown away by the products they offered, was completely unaware of this stores existence.

Went in looking at the motorcycle helmets for this riding season and enjoyed the selection offered. But after a few minutes of speaking with employees I noticed they knew little about the products they sold. I asked about specific saftey ratings on helmets and they kept referring to "We wouldn't sell any helmet that wasnt DOT approved".. Obviously any riding helmet MUST be DOT approved and I wasnt asking that, I was asking in regards to SNELL and ECE ratings on helmets I was interested in but they had zero knowledge about those saftey ratings.

Secondly I began looking around the store for a simple riding jacket and was immediately thrown into the most expensive leather riding jacket that the store had to offer. I expressed my interest in the jackets with armor but was told leather was much more comfortable to slide on if I ever went down.

I was looking at phone mounts and almost purchased a mount that wouldn't have worked on my motorcycle. Even though I voiced this concern he practically ignored my concern and told me it would work. (It wouldn't have)

Honestly it seems they (Employees) push expensive products onto people just so they can make the most commission on the products. I bought chain cleaner and wax that I helped myself to, but an employee had to put his numbers on the can.

I've also noticed that I was able to find products they offered in store $20-$30 cheaper online (My helmet being an example) I'm really disappointed in these findings and experiences but hopefully will be able to give this store another shot...

Clowns in the parts department!!!! I went in to get oil for my Triumph Thunderbird because I was due for a change and did not want to wait for it to ship from a supplier. I was asked if I needed help and I responded "no thank you". After 1 min the same clerk insisted that he help me. So I said " I would like 15w50 full synthetic oil" his repsonse was just buy the 20w50 because it's the same. I replied " NO it is not the same and I am going to run the exact weight my manufacturer recommends". To which he countered by saying "if you pour them out next to each other they look the same". That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard someone say regarding motor oil, as I was in shock for a few seconds not actually believing my ears, I gathered my thoughts and maintained a straight face and said " so all oil is the same because it looks the same"? The conversation continued with Mr. Knowitall Ponytail in the same direction as it had began. Instead of helping me he just wanted to show everyone how smart he was, "if it looks the same it is the same". NO THANKS PONYTAIL, you can sell your bolagna to someone else...I aint buying it. Hire someone who actually listens to customers needs and wants. Just because you came to work with a leather vest and ponytail does mean you know what you are...

Gave it 2 stars because it’s a pretty cool stuff to look at. I purchased one of their tires. Brought my rim and they took it right away and said I could wait, it’ll be done shortly. While I was shopping for other items, counter guy told me management doesn’t like people standing around waiting on service. His words! I left came back after 2 hours. Was talking to the lady at the counter and an older woman asked if I needed anything. I said no I’m waiting on my tire and should be almost done. She tells me the guy doing the tire has to go to lunch. 2 hrs I’ve already waited! And now she going to send him to lunch?!! A disagreement was had about that. Told me they didn’t know how much longer it would to finish balancing the tire. 10 minutes later it was sitting there ready to go. Sent me home with an UNBALANCED TIRE!! I had 2 other bikes to get tires put on. Not by these people!!...
