Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana — Attraction in Calumet Township

Yesterday, we had horrible experience with your facility and your managers. My wife is a longtime fan of Jason Mraz's art. And when we found out that he would be performing in Gary,IN at the Hard Rock Casino, we immediately purchased tickets a month before the event. We were not even bothered by the fact that it was far from our home. All month my wife was looking forward to how we would have a great time at the concert. And now the long-awaited day X has come , my wife and I, after a working day, drive an hour and a half to the Hard Rock Cafe.  Excited, we arrive at the place, park the car and go inside the Hard Rock Casino. A yong lady  meets us at the entrance and asks for our documents. Naturally, I have a driver’s license, but my wife doesn’t have a driver’s license-she doesn’t drive a car and doesn’t have a passport with her either. No one even thought that we needed to take it with us. As a result, I can go inside, but my wife can’t! The manager was called to come to the reception. The manager didn’t want to listen to us and talk to us, We showed her a photo of the document on our smartphone, but this was not enough for her. She refused to listen to us. She wasn’t even bothered by the fact that we are foreigners, we’re from another country, we’ve been in the USA for 5 months, we came to a concert, we’re not going to play slot machines, we’re not going to buy alcohol, since we don’t drink at all, and the fact that we  we came from another state, she wasn’t interested in that either, we look adequate, we don’t look like some eccentrics or inadequate people, we showed her our purchased tickets, all we had to do was GO TO THE CONCERT HALL, THROUGH THE HALL WITH Slot MACHINES. This is such nonsense to be honest. We asked her to accompany us to the concert hall so that she could be convinced that we were not deceiving her. She listened to nothing, she rudely insisted that we leave the premises of the Hard Rock Cafe. My wife and I were disappointed, naturally my wife cried out of resentment from this whole absurd situation. But we did not give up and decided to go through another entrance, we expected that nothing would come of it, but we just decided to try. As a result, this manager naturally warned the reception workers and was already waiting for us there, in the end, after another refusal, we were absolutely convinced that we would not get to the concert, no one would let us in. We went outside and sat down near the entrance. A minute later,two police cars drove up to us, a policeman came out and said that we “tried to break into” the Hard Rock Cafe 3 times. To which we simply smiled and said that not 3 times, but only 2. It was a very funny and stupid statement. We replied that no one was trying to break in, we wanted to calmly enter through the main entrance to the concert, with officially purchased tickets. And in general, I have a document confirming my identity and I have every right to enter the Hard Rock Cafe for a concert, but my wife does not have documents, since in our entire history of attending concerts we have never taken passports with us. And here, just because to get to the concert hall,you need to go through a hall with slot machines and a bar, they don’t let us in! This is absurd and nonsense. In the end, the policeman also didn’t care about our situation. To which he told us to leave the territory of the Hard Rock Cafe.  And while we were walking to the car, disappointed and lost, police cars were driving behind us. It's very funny, honestly.  This is the first time we encounter such an attitude towards ourselves. There are simply no words to describe how frustrated my wife was. Okay, I’m not a fan of Jason Mraz’s work, but my wife, she’s been a fan of the singer for a very long time. Living in our hometown, on another continent of the world, the probability of getting to his concert was “0” percent, since he would never come to our country. While we are here in the USA, we thought this would be a chance for my wife to attend a concert of her favorite singer....

BEWARE !!!! CORRUPT CASINO RETURN TO PLAYER IS 3-5% This place is corrupt and a total scam. I have visited this place several times went and played the slot machines in the high limit room. They have total control over the pay outs on these games they adjust them behind closed doors on how they want them to pay and when they want them to pay. I played many games in the high limit room with lots of money put into the machines. The machines was taking all the money with very tiny wins if some symbols actually landed on the pay line. No matter how high you bet the return to player was pennies. I also played every Dragon link game in the high limit room with multiple different bet dominations to win nothing at all. I also watched many others play the same dragon link games with no hand pays at all and we was betting with high denomination bets. I can truthfully say all this after spending over 5 hours in the high limit room playing these games on many different days . I also observed 2 individuals that knew alot of casino employees that kept coming up to them from all through the casino. These 2 individuals knew exactly what 2 games to walk right up to and get one hand pay after another. They never tried to play any other game in the high limit room because some on the inside told them what game to play and to stay on that game and only that game. Myself and others saw the same exact thing I did as we played those same games for a long time with no winnings at all. I have seen only one time in the high limit room when they had the machines turned on to actually pay multiple players hand pays. All the other times I have been to this casino unless your someone special and gave someone on the inside behind closed doors helping you on what game to play then they no matter how many thousands of dollars you put into these games they will take all your money. Do not fall for the fake articles about there being watched by the indiana gaming commission because thats a lie. If you google about the indiana gaming corruption you will see they are being bribed with money to allow them to cheat and take all your money no matter how much you put into the machines. I myself will report them to the Indiana gaming commission if there not corrupt like they have been busted in the past for about the corruption they will send some serious honest gaming commission people there to investigate pull the slots in the high limit room return to player compared to the money they are keeping and view the history on the security cameras of these games view also the 2 individuals that know way to many casino employees and they they know exactly what machine to go and play and win hand pay after and hand pay. We will see how honest the Indiana gaming commission is after I report them and they go and pull there license. One of the original owners of this corrupt casino was caught sent to prison and forced to sell his share in this casino after his gaming license was pulled google that also. and This is your fair warning unless you know someone internally that works at this casino do not ever go there. Also do not fall for there monthly huge jack pot pay outs I have been here way to many times to watch there almost non existent hand pays. I have no reason to lie about any of this I just dont want everyone falling for there scams and bs. I am also reporting them to the U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of...

Walked in wanting to play Black Jack and the back ended up walking back out the door 7 minutes later. Don't waste your time trying to stop here for table games. All table games using cards have a continuous shuffler machine.

What I gathered being here for less than 15 minutes on a busy weekend day. This place is just a spectacle for people to wear fancy costumes. The place was pretty crowded with people doing nothing just standing around.

** UPDATED: October 2023 * A positive is the building is very well lit high ceilings, not super dark, dim and depressing like some of the other casinos I’ve seen in this part of the country.

Cigarettes, friendly you can smoke darts anywhere you want inside the building.

Revisited again in October to see if they have changed any of their live dealer game policies. Nope the blackjack on the main floor is still a complete scam. Don’t waste your time playing blackjack on the main floor. It is all dealt through a continuous shuffler. 6 to 5 trash.

They added one plastic shoe dealt blackjack table to the main floor. All eight of the general floor blackjack games are dealt through continuous shuffler machines don’t waste your time playing just let the dealer stand there so the casino can waste their time paying somebody to stand doing nothing for 8 hours.

The only real blackjack game is available in the high limits area. Blackjack game dealt through a clear shoe after cards are shuffled. At the time I walked by it was $50 but I could imagine they raise that to some crazy amounts throughout the weekends.

High limit has $25,000 table maximum blackjack available if you wanted to do some crazy highroller table max bets

Baccarat here is very strange. They do not show you a traditional board with the statistics and the different patterns. Instead, the player bet here is marked as red and the banker bet is marked as yellow and there’s just a long screen showing different blocks.

I have never seen this before at other casinos outside of Chicago but a few of the casinos I’ve been to in Chicago have the strange block baccarat pattern board. Also unique to Chicago is the color of player and banker outside of Chicago. All the tables I’ve seen player is blue and banker is red. Must either be something with the Illinois gaming board rules on the game or that might be the traditional authentic colors of the game in other countries.

The only thing that I can say is the baccarat here has some of the highest limits that I have seen outside of Las Vegas. So if you want to do one $100,000 hand, then this is the place to go to for baccarat high stakes.

Stopped in to look for less than 10 minutes did not play anything slots, live games.

Definitely will never be returning here again I have only visited this location three times as I am passing through toxic place. Total time spent in the building less than 28 minutes.

This place is not for me…. I will stick to the hard rock Tampa, red rock Casino Las Vegas, Durango casino Las Vegas, Cincinnati hard rock.

I will never spend a penny in this hard rock casino...
