Cambridge Yacht Basin — Attraction in Cambridge

This is a beautiful marina. The beauty of it speaks for itself. The only negative was from the dock master, Scott. I know he must be a busy man, but we found him condescending And a little bit Rude. We came in as transient, and have a 14 foot wide catamaran. It’s not as easy to maneuver as some of the motoring boats, so we do try to get a T end when we can. We were told there were none available, and we would be given a slip, which we were fine with. However, we ended up having issues getting it to in. Mostly because the angle in which to back our boat up was not favorable to get it into the slip without a problem. Scott told us several times over the radio what to do, but the radio frequency was not clear and we could not hear him. So they ended up moving us to a T end, but he copped an attitude and said if we had just listened to him, it would’ve been OK. He didn’t hear us when we told him that we could not hear him. Not really the best way to get off on a first meet and greet. As we looked at the slip, we realize that had we taken it in reverse we would’ve been able to get into it with no problem, but he didn’t want to hear that. He continued to say “ If you had listened to me it would have been fine. Oh well, sorry about that Scott…live and forgive, hopefully. With all that said, I must say that his dock hand, and I don’t know his name, was extremely personable, friendly, helpful, and told us he seen worse! Lol! We will return again, and hope that our experience with the dock master will be a little bit better. We do love the Yacht basin in Cambridge and would highly recommend it...

Cambridge Yacht Basin continues to be one of our favorite marinas. We cruise the Chesapeake in the spring and fall and always stop for an extended stay at CYB. Scott and Mike provide top notch service at this well managed and well maintained facility. We returned this spring to find that 'A' Dock has been redone as a face dock. During this visit, the inside bulkhead walkway was widened and moved back to allow for a grass median at the seawall. This marina was safe, clean, easy to navigate, and the staff were absolutely lovely. From start to finish they were welcoming and gave us no shortage of recommendations from around town. They have beautiful propane grills and plenty of outdoor seating for you to enjoy your meals. The shower facilities were fairly new and clean which made showering easy. We got to enjoy the fireworks from here as well and it was beautiful. If we’re back in Cambridge we’d definitely stay here again. Thank you for all...
