RAR Brewing — Restaurant in Cambridge

Very bustling place with an extensive beer menu and interesting food menu.

I tried the drunken tater tots for a shared app and some Old Bay boneless wings for myself, both delicious! My first beer was a blueberry lager, which was also tasty. Quite fragrant. Though I am a sucker for blueberry anything I am also frequently let down, not so today! I'd drink 10 more of those and get carried out, if that was an option.

I ordered the chef's choice burger and an Out of Order fruited sour. The burger was a blue cheese contraption with a mascot toasted into the top bun that I enjoyed. The toasted logo is pretty neat! My dinner beer was an absolute chad of a milkshake/smoothy that served as a dessert. I ended up buying 4 more OOOs in a can (thankfully a companion had a checked bag) just to bring some home.

We tried to come back the next day, but there was a "Glizzyfest" going on and the table wait was longer than we wanted to wait. I had read about the Glizzyfest before coming to town, but didn't expect the crowds we saw... mostly eating cheese burgers (chessy burgers?) from RAR. We visited this restaurant for a date night with friends and had high hopes, especially after calling ahead to let them know about our party. Unfortunately, our experience started off on the wrong foot—no one greeted us upon arrival, and we had to repeatedly walk up to the bar just to get assistance. It set a disappointing tone for what we hoped would be a special evening.

Once we were eventually seated in a different section, things improved slightly. Our new server was kind and attentive, and we appreciated the better service in that area. The food itself was delicious, and we especially enjoyed the beer flight—it was a highlight of the night.

However, the portion size of the Chessie Chop was surprisingly small and didn’t include a side, which felt underwhelming for the price. Overall, the meal felt overpriced considering the inconsistent service and lack of attention we received early on.

While we still tipped generously and tried to make the most of our evening, we left feeling disappointed. I’d be hesitant to return, despite the quality of the food and drinks, simply because the service didn’t match the expectations or the...

Child size portions, Upscale restaurant prices!! I went here specifically to have a burger, blown away by the atmosphere, the pretzel bites appetizer was amazing, I added beer cheese and extra pretzel bites for an additional price. ( in hindsight adding the extra pretzel bites was a smart decision. The drink I chose was a Star Wars themed Ooo Sith Sauce 5%. Great tasting exactly as described. Then our burgers came. On a tray the same exact size as our appetizers. I suddenly felt like I was at a McDonald’s back in the 80’s. It was a size between a slider and a McDonald’s cheeseburger almost the size of an English muffin. The flavor was great the toppings all melded very well. The shoestring fries had a great seasoning and per the menu it was fresh cut in house. I personally do not like shoestring fries, the heat leaves them way too quickly.
