We entered and were seated quickly; drinks and menus were promptly provided, and the entrees arrived hot and in a timely fashion. I'm not sure if those are positives, as we were the only people there, but that's were the enjoyment ended. Once our entirely-unimaginatively-prepared food was deposited upon the table, our waitress vanished, never to be seen again. There was no follow-up table visit to ensure that the meal was satisfactory, no return to check for drinks or if we wanted anything else, nothing. Time passes... We finish our meals, still trying to look forward to dessert, and STILL no sign of a server. Bear in mind we are still the only customers in the place. Several more minutes pass without a sound, so I stand up and start walking around the small dining area to see if anybody would notice. A cook(?) walks past, sees me looking like I'm about to leave and stiff them, and suddenly our waitress appears from the little cubby behind the register (from which most of the dining room is not visible). "You guys all done? I'll get your check" says she, without even asking if we wanted dessert. "We'd each like some tiramisu to go, please" we tell her, at which point we discover that there is one slice of tiramisu left in the restaurant (still more than an hour before closing time). She brings our dessert container (with it's entirely-forgettable tiramisu) and the check, leaves them on the table, and vanishes again! I take the check to the register, and there she is, huddled on a stool and completely unable to see what's going on in her dining room, playing on her phone again. I literally have to interrupt her and ask to pay for our meal! I wanted to rate the place one star, but the food wasn't terrible, so...
Read moreOh, I really hate to leave a bad review for a family owned business but today, I will have to.
My family and I were anticipating a few days to try this highly rated restaurant in Maryland. The restaurant opens for a few days with a rating of 4.8. We knew we wanted to try it. We stopped by for lunch to dine in.
We were greeted by the chef in the kitchen ( I assume is the husband) and the waitress (the wife) took us to the able and gave us the menu. The restaurant holds a few tables. We decided to try one appetizer and two lunch meals. We ordered the fried tofu, a pad Thai, and a Chicken Thai noodle soup.
We waited about 10-15 minutes. When the food arrived, the presentation was lacking a bit. We already were skeptical. The chicken Thai soup was completely watered down and was probably flavored with chicken bouillon. When we tasted it, it was basically how I described it — watered down soup. FYI, my husband and I have been to Thailand and had amazing food and this was a let down 👎. The pad thai was way too salty and the flavor was missing the “wok hay.” As for the tofu appetizer, it was bland and fried. The sweet and sour sauce tastes completely off.
I hate to leave a bad review but I can’t seem to understand how a Thai person can mess up on her own food. I want to give it a one star but their service was good so I decide to give...
Read moreI was so jazzed by the reviews. I really wanted to love it. The food was ok, we had pad thai and massimun (sp?) Curry. The calamari was very small and not very good. My son got a personal pizza and that was good. The server was literally 12, did not write our order down and forgot stuff. Didnt offer dessert and just said, "are you done?" With the check in hand. I cant be too mad because frankly she was very young. I'd like to have tried dessert but I just wanted to get out of there. Everything took a very long time and it was quite hot and cramped in the restaurant.
The neighborhood felt sketchy. The restaurant is small with not a lot of tables. But today was a hot day, and it was hot in the restaurant, and I'm trying to not be too harsh because the reviews are so stellar. I think maybe the reviews raised my expectations too high.
I'd still like to go back and try the Italian food. And hopefully change my review. I think as a sit down restaurant experience, I would pass, but maybe pick it up to go, as I think the food may...
