Came in to get my phone screen fixed after a slip & fall. Party responsible for the slip & fall paid 130$ for a new screen.. less than a two weeks later I began to have serious battery problems. A week after that my battery started swelling and restarting every 5-10 mins. I contacted IFixOnWheels, the gentleman there tried to convince me that the battery is damaged due to leaving the phone on the charger for too long (this is actually something that phones have built-in protection against). I didn’t want to get into a back and forth. The guy explained he could fix it for an additional 45$, the battery costs 5-7$ brand new. I know business.. these guys don’t do good business.
Using the cheapest 3rd party screen DIRECTLY & NEGATIVELY affects the phone’s battery. For 130$ I could’ve bought another phone, brand new. They didn’t correct their mistake and attempted to deflect responsibility.. so I give them the lowest rating possible. Very Detrimental Bad Rookie Business Mistake. With Cambridge’s prices, I don’t expect them to be in business very long if they continue doing business .. that goes against their own business.
SUMMARY.. VERY BAD BUSINESS due to using FAULTY PARTS. I won’t trust them with my electronics nor would I recommend them. Their prices are ridiculous given the quality of parts and service.
Save yourself the time and money.....
Read moreI had a tech named Plato that was able to squeeze me in on a Sunday evening which was great since they were pretty flexible.
The main draw is the fact that they can come to your location to perform repairs which was very convenient for me.
I needed a faulty Nexus 6p battery replaced and had a battery I bought off of ebay to try and lower the overall cost of the service ($20 cheaper). When I met with Plato he was honest and told me that the battery I bought (which I paid $10 for) was no good and that it would only be a matter of months before the battery started to fail on me. He pointed out and explained the reasoning behind the failure and was professional about it.
I appreciated the honesty and he said he would order the correct battery and reschedule our appointment.
Less than a week later we met up and I could see the differences in the battery he had and the one I had bought. He had the whole process done in less than 20 minutes which was awesome! He mentioned a 1 year warranty in case the battery was faulty which shows that they stand by their work.
Overall I was impressed with their professionalism, convenience and honesty (especially for an older generation phone). I would highly...
Read moreI brought a Samsung tablet which suffered from water damage there, and I have not been very satisfied with the repair. The original quote was of 100$ for a repair in case no component needs to get replaced. The water damaged the S-pen circuit, which did not work anymore, and replacing would have cost several hundreds more, so I decided to not change it. However, I was not very happy to 100$ for getting a half-functional tablet, since the main reason to get this model was to use the S-pen. I bought it in second-hand for 100$, so I would have been better off to just buy a new one (if I had not cared to limit electronic waste and try to go to small businesses). Second, when I came back to get the tablet, I insisted on testing it and checking the battery carefully. I did well, since the battery has a big problem and just emptied itself quickly and did not charge anymore. I am surprised that this evaded the test. So I came for nothing and had to come back again...
