Swedenborg Chapel — Attraction in Cambridge

We had our wedding ceremony at the Swedenborg Chapel at the end of September. It was, as many of our guests remarked, a truly fairytale setting for the wedding. The chapel is absolutely beautiful and just the right size for an intimate ceremony. Not only that, Mark, who helped to coordinate the logistics of the ceremony and assisted throughout the event, was so kind and thoughtful every step of the way. He really made us feel at ease. After the ceremony, he rang the church bells for us, too, which was an extra special touch.

We also wanted to just say a little about how open-minded the Swedenborgian ethos is. Both my husband and I are Buddhist, so when we first approached the chapel as a possible ceremony venue, we were unsure if they would allow for a Buddhist officiant or for us to put a Buddha statue on the altar. Sage married us and it was incredible. Her words really resonated with our guests and we feel lucky to have these memories to hold on to forever. The church itself is beautiful, historic and on Harvard grounds. We didn’t add any flowers to our ceremony due to the the church being beautiful on its own.
