I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the service I have received on my last two purchases at the Dover Johnny Janosik. The first purchase was made in the summer of 2020 and arrived at my house broken, I immediately notified the delivery driver and they said they would send someone out to fix it. A few weeks later someone comes to fix the chair and says they will need to order a new part to fix it. A day after that repairman came our brand new couch broke. We called and they said that the repairman would look at it when they came to fix the chair. When the repairman came the second time he was able to fix the chair but said that the couch being broken "was our fault" and that they would have to order a new piece to fix it (right side in picture is tilted away from the rest of the couch, couch has scratched my floor as a result and the recliner hits floor and will not close). It was at this point that we decided to return this set of furniture because it was clearly poor quality even though we had paid over $2k for it and only my husband and I used it for a few weeks. We went back into the showroom and were given a credit of the current furniture towards a new set and we decided to go with a trusted brand, Lazboy. We spent an additional $2,000 on top of our original $2,000 and were told in late August that the delivery would be in roughly 12 weeks. That would have been delivered before Thanksgiving. At the 12 week mark I still hadn't heard anything about our new furniture being delivered so I decided to call and check on our furniture. We were told that they didn't have an update and they would have to call us back, when they eventually did call back we found out our furniture would not be delivered until January now, an ADDITIONAL 8 WEEKS out. I was upset not to be receiving our furniture for the holiday, but all I received in response was a "We can't do anything", which I understand because of the pandemic things have been difficult. Fast forward to January, I called each and every showroom in Delaware and was unable to get even one salesperson on the phone to give me an update on my order over the course of a couple of hours. Eventually I decided to call the delivery department to get a living person. They STILL did not have an update on my order that should have been delivered two months previously and said they would need to call me back. When they did call me back it was to inform me that my furniture would not be delivered for an ADDITIONAL 4 weeks, doubling the initial delivery estimate. They offered nothing but an apology for this major inconvenience, which is understandable because they are only in the delivery department. I am writing to you in the hopes that someone at corporate sees this message. My husband and I have been waiting for unbroken furniture for almost a year at this point, we have paid a substantial amount for this furniture and have received no degree of customer service, respect for our time, or common courtesy. While we have been loyal customers of Johnny Janosik since 2015 when we bought our very first new couch set from your store, and we hoped to remain lifelong customers. Read moreI recently purchased a sectional with a sofa bed. The portion of the sofa that doesn’t have the bed in it is nice but the section with the sofa bed was not made very well. Any time someone sits on the three cushions above the sofa bed the cushions begin to sink down because JJ did not add anything at the front of the sofa to catch the cushions or keep them from sinking. This is very annoying and looks bad. I’m 130lbs and the cushions sink even when I sit on them. The quality of the section containing the sofa bed is not great because this should not happen. I have Sat on many sofas with beds in them and have never seen this happen before. The picture included shows one cushion sinking and the other not. the second picture shows the gap the pillow is falling into. The gap is so big you can see my carpet.
Update: I called the number I was provided to resolve the issue with my furniture and was told I had to fill out a request online. I was suppose to hear back from someone within 48 hours after submitting a request and nobody ever called me. I eventually received an email stating that a part needs to be ordered and I would receive another email. Never did. My furniture is starting to get on my nerves. My son went to go put the recliner back and he fell in the little hole and that whole recliner piece went forward and almost fell on my 1 year old son. I called them to let them know what's going on and they send a repair person out. The repair guy told me it came in like that and they will have to order me a new recliner sectional piece. I called Johnny Janosik back to let them know and I also told them I want a discount. I was told I will receive a call back which that didn't happen. So I called to spoke with the store manager. hours later I get a call from Betty who's in one of the higher up department and she informed me that Kevin in Laurel, De said I can either wait for my piece to come in, pick a sectional that's already in their warehouse or get my money back cause I will not receive a discount. I asked to speak with Kevin or get headquarters number but they won't let me, they keep getting Betty to call me. April is almost over and I still don't have a piece. it's been months.
