Eden Health Spa & Salon — Attraction in Cape Girardeau

I bought my wife a 400.00 gift for Christmas . She had been to this spa 2 years ago with a group of 7 female family members to celebrate her moms 75 th birthday and they had a wonderful time. But this time she was very disappointed, My wife was treated poorly, her sister was spoken to and treated poorly. The place was dirty, There were layers of dirt and dust on window sills. Paint pealing, Rings in the toilet in the private room they paid for. It was a confusing mess and not one employee seemed to know what was going on. They asked about the opportunity to add services that day, were told that staff would check and they never came back They are suppose to have robes and slippers for the private room. They did not have a size to fit her, she is a 3xl. Hardly out of the ordinary now days. A staff member said she would check to see if there was a larger sized downstairs, but she never came back . When her sister went to check, she was treated rudely and was told there was nothing that could be done because that is all they have. So for 2 hours, different staff kept coming to her and asking did you try the gray one on. And each time she was shamed about her weight because she had to tell them once again that the robe was too small for her. Her sister and niece wound up crying, She didnt get her massage or pedicure because she was so upset and embarrassed at that point she just wanted to leave. Then 2 hours into the humiliation a staff member told her she would go buy a robe for her that would fit and she could have the massage and pedicure. She said no and asked if her daughter and niece could have her time instead, one staff member said yes, but then another one said its too late you already missed those slots. This is a new group of people and a a new owner. They did not clean their tools between people, and charged my wife for the things she did not do because of their no cancellation policy. But they made it impossible for her to feel comfortable there. I got this for her as a gift so that she could relax and have a wonderful time off from her work as a nurse. I scheduled a massage with Janet a few weeks ago. It was the absolute worst massage appointment I have ever experienced. To start, Janet was late. she kept walking by me while my appointment time had already passed, with no explanation. I let Janet know that I only wanted an upper body massage, she proceeded to disregard what I said and started at my feet. Janet talked throughout my appointment, with no regard for my relaxation, but somehow, Janet made my experience worse. As a plus-sized woman, it is not easy to be vulnerable and disrobed on a massage table and Janet made it worse as she fat-shamed me. Several times she commented unasked that if I just stopped eating carbs and sugar, I could look however I want, that it's not about calories it's about portion control and if I just ate less I could lose weight quickly. To really round out the worst massage experience I've ever had, after the end of my massage, while I was still unclothed under the sheet, Janet proceeded to stand in the room for an additional 10 minutes to talk at me and continue fat-shaming me.

I don't recommend Eden because they employ massage therapists that are bullies and hide behind the veil of contract work with no resolution for customers

Schedule a massage for my girl and I month in advance, and her therapist Jon was incredible for her. Was professional polite & since we had a private room was able to hear how she treated and he was wonderful he did everything she asked. My therapist Janet was unattentive nor did she provide any customer service. I explained I came in for my feet due to my arches tensing up, and she wouldn't even touch them. When i asked to not put hot towels around my feet as it increases the inflammation she asked who told you that I said my podiatrist her response was that not true at all, and when she asked where i wanted her to rub and i showed her on my feet she still didnt massage them. At the end my girl's therapist Jon asked her what wine she wanted to drink and she asked me and I said Red wine is the best and Janet replied wine isn't included. I explained I paid for the private room, Gold package that came with it, she replied no you didnt and left. Then Jon came back in with wine and a cheese plate and apologized for her as he mentioned to my girl he knew Janet was having an off day. Jon is the best why I am even giving this 2 star when he deserves better recognition but it was not a good experience because Janet was i guess having a bad day but still its $225 for one...
