Pretty clean pier, well maintained by the city. Great place to fish and it's not overcrowded. Would give five stars, but the restroom building was closed pretty much the whole day until 5pm. Add that to the fact that all the portable toilets were filled to the brim and some didn't have any toilet paper.
The on-site parking is very limited as it's adjacent to several residential buildings. It does have a few yellow loading/unloading spots. The next closest parking is down the street to the left, though it is quite a walk so I would recommend to go with a buddy to watch your belongings at the pier.
I would say overall it was a good experience. Lots of friendly people here. Also has a bait/gift shop on-site.
Beware of wasps though, it gets pretty warm here and they're attracted to the bait people leave on...

So you can not use it to pay. It suggests you to download an app to pay parking. Then it charges you $2.40 an hour. It is only road side parking on the cliff road, why should anyone pay fee parking on the side...
Read moreThe Capitola Wharf is the same as most of the piers in California. The wharf attracted tourists and people who loved fishing. It has hundreds of birds, and they painted the decks white. I don’t know how often the wharf workers are cleaning the decks. Lol
