Honestly the Mercantile is a great spot for a pedestrian mall and it has a lot of history which is cool. There is a lot of potential here but the space is used terribly in my opinion. I know that is is hard to keep business here during the off season so many things go out of business, but I just wish there were a better solution for this cool spot other than what it is now, although I have no idea what that could be. I love this touristy slice of cozy Capitola. They have seasonal curios as well as small gift items year round, with art from local artists.
