Teak & Deck Professionals — Attraction in Carlsbad

It is with extreme irony that this company has the term "Professionals" in their title. Our experience suggests otherwise. The GM came out to provide an estimate on our deck and recommended using a solvent to remove the old stain. We agreed to his suggestion and waited a month for them to be available to do the work. The day the worker arrived, he spent about 1.5 hours apparently applying the solvent, which he reported was not working. He then left and we got an email from the office saying that some other arrangements would have to be made since their solvent approach was not going to get the job done. Since then....crickets. That was two weeks ago. My wife and I have called and spoken with Jade several times, who has been courteous, and who seems to be working for a GM who cares little about his customers. Apparently, he can't be bothered to pick up the phone to explain why their process didn't work and (by this point) apologize for blowing us off so completely. So here we are entering summer, the time in which we'd hoped to enjoy our deck, and we have to wait until someone who actually is professional and can actually do what they promise to get the job done because Drew and the Teak and Deck "Professionals" cannot. Fortunately, we did not leave a deposit. I obviously do not recommend hiring these people to do any...

We've had a teak patio set for about four years and it was badly in need of some care. It was stained from food spills, and faded from the sun. Teak and Deck Professionals requested photos and after review, they suggested that $900 was the right level of service. We booked it.

When the tech arrived, the first thing he did was call to ask permission to park in the driveway. That set the tone for the entire experience as he was courteous, tidy and fast. In three hours he had cleaned, sanded and refinished/sealed six pieces of patio furniture. They look better than when they were brand new and you'd never know that anyone was even working in the backyard. Zero sawdust, zero drips from painting, nothing but beautifully restored patio furniture.

When we got the bill, it was for $550. Apparently, our furniture was in better shape than they thought (based on the pics that I provided) and it didn't need as much work. So, surprise... They charged for the work that was performed, not what I had already agreed to pay!

Excellent service and workmanship. Did not pressure me into having patio furniture refinished when they initially called me to remind me it was time once again to clean up the furniture. Their telephone person left it up to me to set up the appointment. I liked that. Once the appointment was eventually set up (I called them back to set up the time), the workers arrived on time, did the work, and when they left, our patio area was completely cleaned up and the patio furniture looked great. We have used their expertise for 6 straight years!

It is now 2021....we have now used their service for 10 years. Super happy with the service and the most recent technician, I think his name was JD.

Now it's 2023...same professional service. Same 5-star rating!

And now 2025...same comments. We intend to continue using their...
