We used to love coming here. Weve been going there for a year now but that changes today. Ive even recommended this place several times to others looking for a place to teach their kids and babies how to swim. My sons last class we paid the extra fees for my other two to swim in the open swim area. We were hounded not once but twice about who we are by the lifeguard and they went inside to question about us. They didnt do that to anyone else. I offered to show him the wristbands i was told to not put on the kids because they fall off. Then he constantly paced around watching us closely like we were about to steal the pool or something at the same time kept leaving to talk to the office staff leaving kids unwatched in the pool. Talk about safety concern and profiling and harassing my mixed race family. They didnt do it to anyone else. We brought it up to the front desk staff who let me know they will talk to the lifeguard and that he did go up there to ask about us. We wernt doing anything wrong. My husband is active duty and im retired military so we arent criminals. We decided to give it another try and today it was just my husband and baby for his class. They went for the class and after went to the free swim area for the allowed 10 minutes of free swim after and before class and my husband was hounded again. No one else was asked but my husband. This feels very unwelcoming not to mention racist since he didnt have a problem with any of the white families. What happened to you all?? Im so disappointed in how your establishment is turning. It used to be great and welcoming and a place where my kids could learn to swim and have fun...
Read moreWe began classes at Waterworks in August of 2014 when my son was 17 months old. We moved from the Bay area where we were attending a different swim program. I was so excited to have found Waterworks because I felt their program teaches children life saving water skills. The instructors are kind, patient, and professional. Fast forward to now (November 2016), my son is now 3.5 years old and can swim freestyle and backstroke independently. We also have my daughter in Parent & Me Advance swim lessons where she is learning how to roll onto her back independently and then roll to her stomach and kick to the wall. We have been very fortunate with our instructors as well. When we initially started, my son had Teacher Michael, who was fantastic. Then our schedules changed, where we were paired up with Teacher Lyndie. She was a great instructor for both my son and daughter (be prepared though, she has limited availability because she is very good). Then, our schedules changed again with the new fall year, and we now have instructors Alex and Carissa and are so happy with the results we are seeing with both kids. Both teachers have similar styles and are a nice balance to my kids (we go twice per week). They both have been amazing instructors. I highly recommend this program, especially if you want to see results. It is a commitment, but well worth it...
Read moreMy son has been been rescheduled with four different instructors. I was really excited to get my son into swimming lessons with this company after all the great reviews. I was told he would have the same instructor. He had 2 lessons with one instructor. Then they canceled the following class because they couldn't find a substitute. Then the next few weeks he was scheduled with another instructor because our original instructor was still out. We ended switching our instructor with him and the following week we were told he no longer worked there. We selected a new instructor that was highly recommended from the staff. They said he had just come back to work for them. Now we just received another email that my son has been rescheduled with someone else. Very disappointing. My son has had no constancy since he's constantly getting a different instructor. The staff that work the phones and counters are great but every time I feel like the problem is resolved, I get a new email saying my son has been rescheduled with a...
