While the location is truly serene, this particular unit from Going Coastal was not — upon entering the space, the first thing you’re hit with is the worst smell of must. As we walked the apartment, it became immediately clear the issue is mould and mildew. I did notify the property and they offered to send someone to clean the black mould from air vents and surrounding, but this needs to be remediated and is in the ventilation system no doubt. I asked if they had any other units available but they did not on such short notice. As it was all very last minute, I could not secure additional lodgings and we stayed against our better judgement only for me to apologise to my family all weekend for the deplorable conditions. After departing, I received requests for a review. I contacted Going Coastal to emphasise my concerns over their dwelling and received less than a half nights stay toward a refund. They maintained that this was unusual and not something they had been made aware of previously, however… I went back to double check reviews and the first one to populate was from a woman and her family three days prior who had identical concerns. I would consider Unit 18b a health hazard and there needs to be a suitable property maintenance company and cleaning crew to handle the appropriate clean-up of this...
Read moreI wasn't too disappointed in the place when my family and I first got here. I paid a lot of money to stay 3 nights with my family and one of the first pictures it shows is the pool. There was no notice that the pool was closed but my mom took my daughter to swim and there's a sign saying it is closed. The places next door have people out in their pools so I am not sure the reason for the closure. Most pools are open until at least Labor Day and my kids were really looking forward to swimming. There are also some issues with the property that would be simple fixes. There was an old, nasty shower curtain just laying in the tub in one of the bathrooms, there are roaches in the kitchen and a few other things that would just take a couple mins or a little money to fix. I am pretty upset that I spent so much money to stay at this place- it is certainly not worth the money they charged. I would have stayed somewhere else if I would have known about the issues,...
Read moreWe stayed the week before July 4th. Our condo was ok but TINY. The pool was small and dirty. It can be a long way to the beach if you are at the end of the complex. (Also to be noted, there are no elevators in the one bedroom units.) The biggest issue is that we had workers working on balconies in our building the ENTIRE stay. Hammering, banging, and even one day they were ON our balcony and even ate lunch SITTING on our balcony!! This kind of work should be done in the off season. When we spoke with management about it, they offered us $100 off our next stay! What an insult. They obviously don't even care, and we definitely won't be back. On a smaller scale, they wrap every washed towel in plastic...what a pain and a waste! You would think they would care more about the environment than to have giant balls of plastic for every set of towels used. You have to put on the sheets on each bed as they are laying there wrapped in...
