This was the first time we stayed at the Sea Ranch & honestly I have mixed feelings about it. We usually stay somewhere else but it was booked this time so we gave this motel a chance. Upon arrival, the receptionist ( who was extremely polite/friendly) informed me that the jacuzzi was not working & immediately gave me the option to cancel w/o penalty or stay & receive 10% off of my reservation. I did appreciate this offer & we decided to stay. We stayed in room 338 & it was very roomy w/ regular sized( not dorm sized) refrigerator, microwave, sink, & keurig coffee maker. It was ocean view with a nice balcony with two rocking chairs & also a line to hang wet towels & such. The room was carpeted which I dislike very much. I think any room at the beach should be tile or hardwood due to sand accumulation. The bathroom is tiny. The shower is basically the size of one you would find in a RV & there is no bathtub. Also, sometimes the water would only be lukewarm & it really had to do with timing. Honestly, I hated the bathroom. The room is dated with old school wood paneling & such but that didn’t really bother me but management really needs to find a way to make the bathrooms more user friendly. Maybe a tiered towel rack over the toilet, etc to make most of the lack of room. Also, the towel hangers were dinged & one was sort of coming out of the wall. I didn’t like that I couldn’t adjust the shower head & it would only spray in one spot. As a women, I shave in the shower & it was tricky in this one. If you are a larger size person or taller( I am 5’2” ) you may want to ask if there is another room with a bigger/taller shower. The room was sort of clean but I wasn’t impressed. I wiped down a lot of areas when we first arrived with my Lysol wipes & the floors were still dirty. The sheets had stains & so did the towels. Kind of icky. I am sure they were washed but the stains just gross me out. I would have liked the towels to smell cleaner (like freshly laundered bleach smell) but they didn’t & they were quite thin/worn. There is no elevator here so be ready to climb the steps. Also, no charging ports for cell phones so you will need a wall outlet phone charger. The flat screen tv was very small & had a line through the picture. The pools seemed nice enough but we didn’t use them as we basically hung out at the beach. They have an ice machine but you have to pay .25 for ice however you get a good amount so not too bad. They have a washer & dryer on property that was free to use & I definitely took advantage of it. This motel is in a good location but really could use some updates & a DEEP clean. The maid staff is very nice & made sure to bring us plenty of fresh towels, extra coffee, & take out our trash every day, but no other services were offered so I’m not sure if they perform other services during your stay. So it really is a mixed review for me. Not sure I will be back but it was okay. The parking is a bit tight on site but you are given a tag to put on your dashboard for your stay. Unfortunately, you have to pay to park just about every where else in CB which I absolutely hate & may be a deterrent for me & my family coming back...
Read moreI have stayed at the Sea Ranch over the past 10 years like over 7-8 times to be near family staying there. Each time it has become progressively worse. ||||This stay was enough to do me in! This was a birthday weekend trip and we tried so hard to stay upbeat, but I would not pay even a third of the rate they charge. ||||Room 108: it is like the entire property very out of date, extremely small, musty, carpet is dirty, and just barely provide the basics of cheap thin towels and hard old hand soap. The bathroom cabinet doors didn’t shut, the shower literally is the size of an 80s camper shower - do not drop the soap because you will be SOL. The shower curtain leaked water continually as it was thin and short. Water was not hot enough. ||||Wifi didn’t work in our room. It dropped but worked in parking lot. ||||The bed was advertised as a double/queen. I did not measure it but I would say that double is accurate. It was literally the hardest, cheapest mattress I’ve ever felt. I got zero sleep as there were two adults in it. It creaked and was so stiff I couldn’t sleep. The poor location of the bed in the room - beside a window near an exterior walkway allowed for the bright outdoor light on the exterior to shine directly in the room and into the bed. ||||The tv was on the left side of the bed. Not on wall or at end. Therefore it was almost impossible for both of us to watch from that angle. Which we had to do at 9pm as the POOL closes at 8:30pm and it was raining. ||||The pool area is the only halfway okay thing about this motel. But of course the hot tub was only half full and not even hot. When we asked staff about it we were told they didn’t know why it was low. ||||The water hose didn’t work on the spray off area from beach, there was no trash can near the beach entrance/exit. Two big roaches ran down the walkway beside our door on the second evening. The entire exterior of the property seems to not be maintained. ||||The cleaning staff we encountered were all very nice and appeared overworked. As much as the motel charges it would seem that more staff and updated features could be afforded. ||||I will say that I went to the front desk and asked to move my room on my second day at 8am, and was told by Caz that due to short cleaning staff on that day it was not possible. She did give the option to check out and refund our second night on the precharged 2 nights. We hesitated but opted to stay because we wanted to salvage our beach weekend and had no other option for a place to stay. We should have left. It was just such a horrible stay and just left us both feeling like the $420 we spent was the biggest waste...
Read moreO.M.G!! Hell, NO!!! I'd never recommend this place to anyone. Omg! I'm still sick from that room. We were not told that just the night before the whole place was flooded, and I saw the pictures. It was under water up to the second floor, now I asked my friend why the carpets felt wet!!! Our socks turned black by walking on that nasty carpet!! Omg and the .old smell the 2nd day in the heat it was terrible. I had to leave the door open. Not once did a maid come ask us or bring fresh anything!!!! The sheets looked dirty but were badly stained, but I still question that!?! My allergies I've felt terrible since day 2 of being there until now. I'm so congested and feel so bad I'm gonna have to go to the doctor. There's no question about it. So I just maybe looking for a lawyer. If u know one, send him or her my way, please. That was just awful! Then I think it's pet friendly just to be charged 150 more bucks because they don't know how to mention these things on their website or on the sign out front. (Must pay extra for pets) No, they know how to get people who always bring their children along , Lord, she's just like a kid. Even has her vest been trained for emotional support. But they still charged me 150$ oh, and no, they could not wait till I could email them a copy of her order they had to charge me right at that moment, NO IFS ANDS OR BUTTS!!!! NO I WOULD RECOMMEND A BETTER PLACE DOWN THE STREET OR UP A LIL WAYS THE BEACHES ARE BETTER ALSO. AT NIGHT THERES NOT ONE LIGHT ITS SO DARK ITS DANGEROUS I WAS TOO AFRAID TO EVEN ENJOY IT AFTER DARK. ITS LIKE ITS SET UP FOR PEOPLE TO BE ROBBED. ITS UNDAFE IN THAT AREA. BUT ITS ONLY MY OPINION TAKE IT AS U MAY! IM JUST STATING HOW IT AFFECTED MYSELF AT THE TIME OF ME BEING THERE. could be different in a year or so who knows. But if u go good luck...
