Hays Mill City Park has been hidden from myself and family but now I’ve found it. I live in Northern Heard County and own a place here that reminds me of Hayes. To research Armstrong Mills, Centralhatchee Creek, Hillabahatchee Creek and of course the Chattahoochee River are all in different areas of Heard County but they have always been unspoiled and beautiful.
As I grew up, graduated college & Grad School I raised a family and in general life took me away from all that Beauty 25 years ago. It’s my dream to enjoy nature’s gifts and especially the fish and wildlife.
My great great great grandparents settled the Centralhatchee area long before Heard County existed. In fact I own the original settlement half section of bottom land and live here on the south side of the city limits on Highway 27. My grandparents were Bivin and Dana Jackson Hyatt.
Growing up, my parents allowed me to spend all my leisure time in nature and on the creek. I loved Fishing and all the creeks, rivers, streams and ponds on the farm and within an easy bike ride. Well, that’s another story for another time.
I am attempting writing and possibly having a Podcast on life here, now & back then. I plan to visit all places that are alike Hayes Mill and a few hidden spots around “The Carroll and Heard County” (EP refers to it as “The Promised Land”) area including Carrollton, Franklin and Centralhatchee, Georgia. Maybe fictionalized tales that’s been in my mind to real life situations that are a mixture of mainstream media, such as Dawson’s Creek and...
