They always leave out the tortillas on my to go orders Just gonna add to this review. Called to place a pickup order. Asked the lady to make sure my tortillas were in the bag this time since the last 2 were missing. Picked up my order and once I got home the entire order of Texas Fajitas were missing. Called to let them know I was missing this meal. Once I return I Asked for a manager and was told they didn't have one on staff at the moment. When the lady brought my food I brought it to her attention about the last 2 orders and she just said I'm sorry, I am the manager. I expressed my frustration of having to return while my family had dinner without me and had to waste my time and gas to get a meal they left out. All she could say was she was sorry. I said I would be giving a bad review and as I turned to walk away she was fussing at another employee about me. I approached and asked what was the problem, she said she was trying to make it right. I said no you didn't and then I gave her the chance to make it right. She told the other lady to refund my meal. She handed me cash and held it tight to make it difficult for me to take it. As I turned to walk away she started fussing again to the other lady about me. I stopped and said you can continue your negative comments after I leave. Let me just say I Will Never Return here. I will go out of my way to go to a better Mexican restaurant in town. Tired of missing items and definitely don't need an attitude from an employee for their mistakes. If I could give no...
Read moreThis was my first visit to Hacienda Grande. The service was great, very attentive. The manager was seen around constantly - dude has some energy.
For my first visit, I wanted to try and get a general feel for the food. I feel like the basics are the best for a good measurement, because you cannot expect them to get a complicated dish right if they cannot even do the basics. To that end, I ordered a combo lunch of a chicken burrito, beef taco, rice, and beans.
The shredded chicken in the burrito was good, but the beef in the taco was the standout. Good seasoning and wasn't loaded with grease. There's been more than one place where the grease was already eating through the shell (not unlike it always does at the fast-food option) by the time it got to the table. At some places you have to rush to eat the tacos, so that they don't fall apart. That wasn't a problem as you can see from the photo.
The rice is important to me, and it tasted good and was cooked right. Easily 80% of the time at different places it's overcooked. I eat my rice and beans together, and I'm happy to say that they were a good complement.
The last part of the experience is the chips and salsa. The chips were good and the salsa was okay. It wasn't bad and you cannot complain too much, because it's complementary. However, it's a very basic out of the container runny salsa. It's a little spicy, so they may be adding some seasoning. But the salsa is, if I'm being forthright, kind of boring. I'd love to see a more...
Read moreWe recently moved here from Texas. We're used to having really good TexMex and Mexican food. It's our favorite. We've tried numerous Mexican restaurants here in carrollton and surrounding towns. We were on a quest to find a good Mexican restaurant. We tried the ones highly rated here in town, and honestly they were awful and sooo flavorless. We tried Hacienda Grande and immediately loved it. The food is sooo good. Nothing in this area compares to their quality. Their food is delicious and authentic. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, our kids love it too. Their bar is great. Service is always excellent, and we've never had to wait long for our food even during rush hours. I didn't want to leave a good review because I wanted to selfishly gatekeep this place and how great they are so that they don't get too popular and always busy. But dang, they deserve all the good reviews. I can't gatekeep this. Hacienda Grande can take my money. I'm there too much now....
