La Salsa Carrollton — Restaurant in Carrollton

My family and I frequently dine here. About on a weekly basis. However after today, we will not be returning. I'll start from the beginning. We were the only people dining in when we arrived. After taking our drinks, The server was too busy speaking with another staff member to take our order. I had to show obvious concern to get her attention. Once the order was placed, it took 15 minutes to receive the cheese dip. After another 15 minutes our food arrived. Minus the food of one of my children. The server never even wrote down his order. So she walked away to the kitchen. Once back there, the cooks began preparing his food. 30 minutes in, with food in front of everyone at out table but my oldest son. By this point we are ready to pay for the drinks, and take our business elsewhere. I had to flag down some child who claimed to be the manager. He absolutely had zero concerns with our situation. Yet he was capable of explaining to my wife how she needed to speak. By this point, the server returned and lied to us claiming that his meal was just taking a little longer and was almost ready. When before she proved to us that his order was never even taken. They absolutely did not want us to pay and leave. But after being scolded by a child manager, waiting 30 minutes for only some of the food, and being lied to. We had enough. Fortunately, Carrollton has plenty of other options for this style of food. Therefore this place will easily be replaced with a restaurant that cares about...

I have come across some Mexican restaurants, and I decided to take La Salsa a shot. When I walked in the place, I first met a friendly staff who works in the establishment, and then asked regarding reservations. No problems with that at all. It only took less than a minute for them to come and we got seated quickly. Then another one of the employees passed chips and it was pretty tasty! Before I got started with my order I got myself a drink, and bought some cheese dip! The cheese dip was a little cheesy, but it was pretty delicious with the chips! Soon after, I got started with the main order; I got some Birria Tacos, and they were stuffed with cheese, and also filled with that tasty and steaming hot meat. The tacos were overall very hot, a little cheesy and pairing with the sauce that goes for the tacos! The employee who was a waitress came back and asked if we needed anything else. All of the staff members made sure to make our experience and expectations at La Salsa great and overall it was a great experience. I will definitely come back and continue patronizing this...

We have used La Salsa for several community events and our bill is usually over $400. They are always one of the more expensive places for us to get meals from, but it is a treat for our organization, and the food is good. They have never been willing to offer a discount for us which some places do, but that is understandable as they are a business. Today, I was able to make a final decision to never give them our business again because when I called to make arrangements for a large party of 20 students for tomorrow, we were turned away even if we chose to come as a group of "first come first serve customers" This place was one that came recommended to us when we first came to Carrollton. I have been discouraged with their communication, the lack of side items (tomato, lettuce, onion) not provided when we made large to go orders, and their communication with customers. We will not use them for catering or for personal dining again. We are looking forward to trying The Lazy Donkey in Carrollton...
