X-Golf Grand Rapids — Attraction in Cascade Charter Township

First, let me indicate that I have been to this location in the past; however, today’s experience will likely result in me taking my business to Thorneapple or the Holland location.

My friend booked us a three hour reservation on 1/4/19 for today. We show up to start at 9am and we’re told our names were not on their list. At that time, we displayed our confirmation email and expected the matter to be resolved; however, that was far from the case. The male employee working did a wonderful job understanding our frustrations, but he didn’t have the pull to effectively remedy the matter.

My friends spoke with Danielle (manager) and later the owner. Keep in mind my friends drove from out of town (an hour one way) and we were fortunate to all be off of work. The manager could not explain the “glitch” that occurred and offered to give us “one hour comped” on a different day during non peak hours. This was not acceptable given our inability to play golf today since they were booked entirely, the drive times incurred, and the fact that we booked our reservations prior to the indicuals occupying our reserved bay.

The matter is presently unresolved with the owner-who has offered little given the circumstances and reality of the incident. Had the owner offered to provide us a three hour reservation paid during a time of our choosing, this review would not be written. Instead, management and ownership sent the clear message that our continued business is no longer needed as the maximum offer was 1 hour free during peak times.

Moving forward, make sure to call ahead and ensure the online confirmation of your reservation is valid so you, too, can avoid driving any distance only to be sent away with a “sorry, it...

I was excited to have an outting with 9 other friends (party of 10.) From the start it was terrible. We had a party of 10 reserved 1 month prior. We were on the opposite side of the building from out party. There was a party ahead of us that took 15 min into OUR time to get off. The 'extensive" bar was a poor excuse to a college dorm room (see pic.) The software was slow and not at all responsive. We would have to take multiple swings on a single shot to have it register. Service was terrible. $6 for tortilla chips and a scoop of guacamole. Then when our time was up they came and shut the machine off. We don't even know the final scores. Then when asked for a simple discount, the server said I can't do that and there was no manager to talk to. She said, "Did you ask to be together when you reserved your party of 10?" First time here. I was impressed with the facility and felt the simulator was fairly accurate and consistent. Music was a little loud during the staff instruction, but fine during play. There were issues throughout the round (spraying sensors, buttons stuck, etc.) that took away from the experience. They offer no extended time or discount for these delays, which essentially cost us from playing 1-2 additional holes. I think it was be wise to buffer in 10-15 minutes between groups to account for these types of situations. Golf is a bit steep if there are only 2 playing ($55 EA for 2 hours).
