Meijer — Local services in Cascade Charter Township

I do like this Meijer and how it’s set up and they really do have a lot of great employees! I’m a ship shopper so I’m in these stores many times a week and this past Sunday was my first bad experience. I had the greeter stop me as I was about to leave the store with 2 order in my cart full to the top separated with one Meijer basket at the very bottom and I had 700+ pounds of dirt waiting for me at the garden center for one of my orders too. Lori the greeter stopped me and wouldn’t let me leave the store with the meijer basket at the bottom of my cart and she made me unload all my grocery’s by the doors. It was so embarrassing and her actions were completely out of line how she was talking to me. I have never been stopped before and this is always how I separate my orders. I even offered I would walk the basket back into the store and hand her it but I wanted to keep my 2 separate orders apart and not get them mixed up since Meijer bags all look the same. She refused and made me unload all my grocery’s to give her the basket and then proceeded to ask for my name because I was “the rude one”. I didn’t give it to her and I did file a complaint online with Meijer customer service and they were so nice! To make things funnier the lady on customer service for Meijer had never herd of this “rule” Lori was trying to enforce on me. Even if it is a true policy, I have 0 problems following it but she could have handled this situation so much more professional. Enough cashiers staffed at self-check out lanes to be able to promptly help customers with issues while checking out. You can usually bank on having an issue doing it yourself that requires assistance to before you can even continue with your order. Then there's 👎 one there to help you so u just have to wait until someone does eventually come or go look for someone to asdist you yourself. But here my experience has almost ALWAYS had enough staff that were not only looking to see what register was flashing needing assistance but also watching and looking to see if they notice someone who looks like they might need some help. This is the only place that u can go in and check yourself out and have is ACTUALLY be quicker than waiting in open lane with a cahier. But we all know that seems like usually the "quicker" self- check out lanes for faster service ends up taking just as long if not longer for u to check out of the store. It makes for a crappier shopping experience. The employees are Friendly, Kind & Cheerful as well as quick to help. Allover...
