Riverfront Trail — Attraction in Castle Rock

This picturesque trail runs along the river and the backside of town; a dike that's paved until you get to the bottom to a sandy path that goes into two directions. At the bottom, there's a picnic table to sit and rest. One way leads down to the beach; a busy fishing spot for locals year-round. During summer, you'll find families playing in the sand and people of all ages swimming near the shore. The other direction is into the woods. Where you'll find lots of wildlife, old growth fallen down trees, and beautifully lush foliage! The little paths off of the main one leads down onto the beach. I am so happy we moved to Castle Rock and the city does a great job with the little town. Most impressive is how they took the effort to make a trail along the river. This trail is relatively clean and the people on the trail are generally friendly. Dogs are welcomed as long as you pick up their poo and bags are provided.
