Update 7/2021: since my last post they have hired new staff who are usually friendly and kind. They definitely have the best maple frosting around and their donuts are good but a lot of their other offerings taste like they are a stale. The breads are good though and they offer goodie platters during the holidays I would definitely recommend. I’m really happy that they’ve improved their service. I like supporting local and this place is nice to have around.
Original post: I used to love this place but the staff is SO in need of some customer service skill that I only go once or twice a year when I get a bad craving. Whether you call or walk in they are curt, impatient and just downright rude at times. The last couple times I’ve gone in I’ve stood waiting while the girls behind the counter finished their LONG conversation and finally acknowledged me. No, “hello” or “be right with you” they just pretend like you don’t exist until they come over and act annoyed with you for even coming in. Honestly the place appears to be run by a bunch of extremely spoiled teenage girls. The only exception seems to be if there is a...
Read moreHad them make a small cake and donuts for our wedding. They asked if I would like delivery and then told me it would only be $25 so I agreed it was worth it. Then on my wedding day 30 minutes before the wedding told me I didn’t pay for delivery because it was never wrote down on the slip. I remember the delivery charge being paid for because when I had paid for everything she was trying to figure out how to enter the delivery charge into their system and somehow had figured it out which I am assuming was the problem. When I asked for a refund they refused because they said it wasn’t wrote on anything. I had called them after the original order to confirm everything and they asked if I would like them to try and match my wedding colors in which I told them I just wanted white glaze, chocolate and maple donuts to my surprise they in fact did try to match the wedding colors and we ended up with some interesting brick red donuts that were not what I was looking for at all. Do not recommend them and would much rather have Longview Donuts! Such a disappointment as we were trying to support our...
Read moreAfter reading good reviews, we decided to take a drive to visit the Castle Rock Bakery. Because they're still fairly new, they are still working on building their inventory.
As of right now, they're basically a Donut shop. They have beautiful homemade donuts, muffins, cookies & pastries.
The shop is very cute & quaint, with little tables for snacking . Nicely decorated & well lit.
The service was very accommodating & friendly. The clerk was all smiles, and eager to serve. Something we really appreciated.
We tried to get a good variety of treats to sample, and all of them were very good! The Cinnamon Rolls had Cream Cheese frosting, which made for a great taste; not sickening sweet.
The cookies were again, really good, but not too sweet.
We'd definitely recommend Castle Rock Bakery, and will definitely...
