To Noah Bautista since you clearly made an account just to indirectly reply to me. I wish them nothing but the best, but a five star review with nothing but good things to say will hurt these business owners rather than an honest review. Growth comes from a place of hardship. Everyone seems scared to speak out cause itās a small town, I get it but as I mentioned if you are craving Mexican food this will satisfy if you arenāt able to make it yourself. While the tip is optional tipping is not something very common in Mexico so that a lot throws the vibe. More of a principal thing , I feel sorry for the person asking for the tip since they donāt make enough to survive from their employer so they must silently beg for extra income. As I did mention Iād much rather pay 13 dollars for a 10 dollar burrito than being asked for a tip afterwards , either way the food is too cheap. Prices will rise soon and thatās okay!
To everyone else and the owners the food is good, it is a little bland for myself. The place does have a Hispanic vibe.everything below this was meant to be constructive. To anyone getting offended by it Iām sorry that criticism was never a way you were taught to improve. Wether it be constructive or not to an individual, criticism to a business when looked at the right angle is all constructive.
To note I did respond to this as Iām getting them again.
Original review-
For all the people saying this is AUTHENTIC Mexican food. Iād say is authentic first generation Mexican American Mexican food. Close to the tree but if any Mexican tourist would to taste this they would not agree. We need more flavor! And Mexican salsas. I got the spiciest one and it was a creamy red sauceā¦. Whereās the onion cilantro tomatillo and hot pepper salsa. Guacamole would be offensive to be called authentic with the lack of love and flavor it had.
I saw everyone raving about how authentic affordable and filling this food was. Maybe the review is harsh because of all the hype I had for this place. Iāve tried it three times. Three different meats two different ways. While all the meat is cooked perfectly tender they lack āSazón ā or season properly. The season feels very light or something my wife would cook when she would first look up Mexican food ect. Iām guessing this would get better with time. Now the 2 things that really did it for me was the fact that I ate out every time. I called place order and Iād get these burritos that are maybe a 1/5th meat compared to their pictures they post online or the ones customers seem to post when they eat there. I had seen a handful reviews referring to inconsistency on servings so I assume this will change. The final thing each burrito is about 10 dollars and as a take out order when I swipe my card I get the infamous screen. What service did you provide above the burrito I order to ask for a tip. If you need to charge 20-30% more for take out orders just add it to the price. I understand if there was a wait service where gratitude would fit in, but I walked into a building with no AC waited there for the food that I ordered and paid 10.84 plus my 20% of ātipā Iād rather pay 13+ tax than to get there and dread the fact that I face this screen once again somewhere that doesnāt fit the style atmosphere.
In short - if you canāt cook or have someone that can cook Mexican food this will be ok. If you are in craving to eat Mexican food this will be ok since they arenāt any other Mexican places near that are good.
Good luck to you guys everything is great! Just fix tip on take out with higher prices and for the Sazón you guys seem to be trying so itās good! Glad to have you in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe ordered two taquito plates, a nacho, an enchilada/tamale plate, and some guacamole and chips. We had to wait for 30+ minutes for the food, plus they forgot one of the orders of taquitos and chips and guacamole so that made the wait even longer.
Thereās only a very small dining room, so you should probably just plan on taking the food to go.
There were two middle aged women taking orders at the front ā they looked and lot alike, but one had dark hair and another graying hair. They were very nice to customers, but the dark-haired woman continually spoke poorly of the other staff and was shockingly rude to the woman with graying hair.
It doesnāt seem like anyone knows what is going on. I know they were trying their best, but they just kept walking around asking people if they had already ordered. Every time someone ordered, they had to run the ticket back to the kitchen, and it didnāt seem like they have any systems in place for anything.
Nothing we got was made well. The chips and taquitos were not fried long enough so they were still kind of chewy. Though, I have to say that I liked how thick the chips were. They would have been amazing if they were cooked long enough.
All of the food was under seasoned. The beans were watery and insanely bland. The rice was bland and over cooked. The sour cream was weirdly curdled. We only got half a tamale in the enchilada/tamale plate, which is ridiculous for the price. The guacamole was a small cup for $7 which is a total rip off. Plus, it was bland. The meat in the taquitos was ground taco meat. That was new for me, but it was the only thing with a little bit of flavor. Nachos were soft by the time we finally ate them because everything took so long.
If this place can invest in some salt and figure some stuff out, they might have a chance. If theyāre still in business in a few months, Iāll give them another try. Until then, Iām sticking with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!! So we came in, sat down and figured out what we wanted to order. We ordered Steak Fajitas. The options were chicken, shrimp.and steak. When our food comes it was not good ar all. Steak, onions and peppers were dripping in so much enchiladas sauce you could not taste the meat or veggies, the rice was over cooked and had NO FLAVOR (it was mushy) refried bean were okay. We had to ask the waitress what the sauce was because we have NEVER had fajitas served in a thick red sauce like that. She informed us it was enchilada sauce. We didn't eat much of our meal. We ate enough to not feel so hungry. As you can see in the picture we left a lot behind. It just tasted that bad. When we went to pay she told us our bill was $48 plus change. This did. Ot sound right. Each meal was $18 and the side of sour cream was $3 and we drank water. That would be $39 plus tax if my math correct. She told us the meal was $21 each and I informed her their menu says $18 and she argued that is was $21 now. She became quite rude when I said she can't legally charge us more than the listed price and it wasn't even worth that in my opinion. I told her we left most of our .meal on the plates as it was not good at all. She proceeded to say we were no longer welcome there for disrespecting their food. As she rang our meal up at the correct prices she said they didn't want "PEOPLE LIKE US" in their business and made some other rude comments under her breath. At this point I am angry and said we would now be leaving a review and she said, "Go ahead, we don't care"! Then we left.
WE WILL NEVER GO BACK AND WHOEVER OWNS THIS BUSINESS SHOULD FIRE THIS YOUNG WOMAN. If an employee of mine handle this situation like this I would fire them in a heartbeat. But that's just me I guess. I care about my customers experience and if something isn't to theor liking I sure don't get...
