Attended the St Louis Day Festival today at Koenig Park in Castroville, Texas. Koenig Park lies on the banks of the Medina River and has been a wonderful location for both Public and Private events over the years. I attended today’s event as an entertainment participant, playing with the Alamo City Community Marching Band to supply entertaining music for the St. Louis Day BBQ patrons under the Pavilion. And yes, we were also able to partake of the St Louis BBQ Brisket and Sausage plates. This plate was delicious. If you hang around after 2 pm, they will sell the left-over Brisket and Sausage by the Pound (this is a great option to take some home for later in the week (freezing what you will want to keep even longer). Food, Entertainment and booths of fun abound on the grounds surrounding the Koenig Halle. If you want to cool off, there is the Silent Auction inside the Halle. If you missed the event today, 08-24-2025, plan to make it a must-attend event next summer. The St Louis Day picnic event is always held on the last Sunday before Labor...

I also bought $40 worth of raffle tickets even though none of my tickets were winners I felt donating to my Church was the right thing to do. However once we arrived we noticed how disorganized the event was they should have had someone to assist with finding/ locating tables to sit down. We tried 3 times to sit and were greeted by a female worker/ server who said that the table was being saved for her family and as I tried to get to other tables people would put hats, coats, purses, etc. before we got to the tables. I was truly disappointed in what I observed. This is an annual event and the organizers should be more welcoming and provide a place for everyone that wants to attend instead of allowing rude people working the event control the event and running people off. We left after 15 minutes and were not able to find...

Bats were flying around catching bugs. There was Hawk on a post just stirring there. My son and I caught some Fire Flies. We had fun. One more thing. We were here for a sweet 16...
