When I was around 7, my dad lived in San Antonio. We used to go deep in the country to this old shack. We would get "chunk jerky" and take it home and slice it and eat it and drink jalapeno juice! 47 years later... I have searched, until I was blue in the face, online. I made several calls all over the US, to no avail. When I asked for chunk jerky, the size of a roast, they had no clue what I was talking about! One person even told me I remember wrong, it's impossible to do!! I now live in Hawaii and we don't even have "butcher shops"! My dad lives in Missouri and we talk pretty frequently. I had mentioned my quest to him 3 or 4 years ago. And never talked about it since. I get an email from my dad telling me I have a surprise package coming and to watch our for it. I I called him to make sure around what time and if it was USPS, FEDEX, or UPS, so I could make sure to be home when they delivered!! He was SO EXCITED, and couldn't even keep the secret!!! The first thing he said, "do you remember that old shack in the country... silence..." I yelled "WHAAAATTT!!! DID YOU FIND THEM?!!!" He started trying to tell me about your company, through being extremely choked up, and tears, of which he'd NEVER admit!!😂🤣 He found Dzuik's!! Not "the shack".... but OMG!!! I was in complete disbelief!!! He was so sweet and ordered for me!! But I found out he didn't order for himself!!😢 He said he just got into a position financially that he wanted to do something for me.😭 That was THE sweetest thing my dad has done for me!! As soon as I'm able, I'm going to really surprise him and do the same!! I went on and on with him on the phone as he had me open each different pkg and tasted them all!! He was as excited as I was!! We lost a lot of years of having any sort of connection... but we have mended fences and we now have a relationship that, no matter what happened, I am grateful. And I love my father❤ You have amazingly deeelish products!! I have the peppered chunk jerky, original, chili pepper and teriyaki split beef jerky. Also beef/venison and jalapeno cheese dried sausage. Ah ma zing!!! I can't wait to send as much as I can afford to my dad!!! I'm SO EXCITED my dad found Djuik's!!! I can't wait to try more of your products!!! Just FYI...I recieved your box all the way to Hawaii on the 3rd day!! Thank you for standing behind your products and keeping a lost tradition alive!! And allowing my dad and I to relive a moment 47 years later!! I'm going to plaster your name on my Facebook page, so expect a lot of new customers from Oklahoma!!
Sending you much Aloha❤🤙🏼🌺 Mahalo!!! Angie Ayars Ewa Beach,...
Read moreWe wanted to love Dzuik's and, for a while, we did. However, there's only so many times you can mess up before you should start to expect negative feedback -- and it seems like the owner, management and my family disagree on that number.
They've lost whole animals we've dropped off for processing which, is honestly pretty impressive. That was Strike 1. We returned. Mistakes happen and they attempted to make it right. We wanted to support local.
Strike 2 was when they lost my 11 year old daughter's first doe hide. We had it marked to keep - and made sure it was marked when we dropped it off - as it was her very first deer and we promised we'd get the hide tanned for her to hold on to. We brought that to their attention with the hopes that they'd get it figured out. Again, super frustrating but mistakes happen. We just wanted them to find it or make it right.
Strike 3 was the entire process following that. If you're going to be an honest and well received business, you have to make it right when you or your employees foul up. We've received nothing but the run around from the manager of the processing facility, Jeff. He has lied, he has given us the run around, he has avoided everything completely. Now my husband and mother in law are getting calls from the owner telling them that their reviews, stating the facts, are unfair and need to be taken down. That honestly causes me to also question the accuracy and validity of the ratings and reviews listed elsewhere.
I was planning on staying out of this but no longer. Sir, telling a customer that their review isn't acceptable after you dropped the ball is what is not acceptable. We gave you repeat opportunities to fix what your team messed up well before a review was ever written. If you don't like negative feedback, the burden lies on YOU to do better. It does not lie on your customer to just deal with your shortcomings.
Ultimately the issue wasn't the mistakes, though multiple for one family in a short period of time IS a red flag. The issue at the heart of our frustration is the unwillingness to handle it appropriately and professionally.
Schott's should be thanking you for securing new...
Read moreFor Excellent quality of Meats, Shop Dzuiks. The drive from San Antonio is less than 30 minutes from Loop 410 and Hwy 90. The ground beef is packed in see through 1 lb packages and does it look good. And it is. The PARISA is the best around. Don't shop at a grocery store for Parisa; shop at Dzuiks and don't forget those crackers. You can buy some there or at a grocery store nearby. I tell everyone about Dzuiks, but when they try the Parisa, they are convinced that Dzuiks makes the best they have ever had. When they try anything I make with the beef...anything...they rave more than ever. And the chicken and other items: quail, summer sausage, jerky (of all types)....well, I am going there tomorrow to get some Parisa, and some ground beef and cheddar cheese for my meat and cheese enchiladas. Enjoy. P.S. I scored Appeal as Very Good and not excellent only because it has a Mom and Pop kind of store so don't go there expecting a fancy place, the inside is clean and the employees must be the best young people from around town.. I know this is long, but I must make this known: the hours indicated on Dzuiks website are incorrect (8am-8pm). Perhaps those are hours when a lot of processing is done. Today (2-17-13. Sunday) I drove 17 miles to find out that the new hours are 8am until 6pm M-Sat, and they are closed on Sundays. I will call first...
