This place is great. It is like a best kept secret. In these days of Covid 19 the Government is just about useless but here I found hope and satisfaction. All I wanted was to find a place to purchase a Senior National Park Pass without buying it on line and waiting who knows how long to get it. The places you would think would sell them that are open to the public won't sell them and the places that do sell them will answer a the phone but aren't open and can't give you any better advice than to go somewhere that is closed or to a National Park hundreds of miles away. Kay was great managing the large group that also wanted tour tickets, getting us tickets for the 10am tour and then getting the folx that showed up after us tickets- first come, first served. The national park stamp and map are easily obtainable inside. There is a small selection of gifts/ items,just not a lot of what we’re usually looking for. Great interpretive panels outside. Although the cave tour is currently unavailable (as of may 2025) due to interuptions in federal funding (I'll hold my tongue on what I think of that here) the visitor center remains worth seeing. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and the woman we spoke to was a gem.
