Before Grocery Outlet came to Cave Junction, I was a bit of a skeptic from my memory of other discount outlet groceries. Now that they've been here a few years I've changed my tune about this store. It's sure a bit different than conventional supermarkets. In G.O. It's sort of an adventure to see what appears on their shelves. Their Wow! deals, flash sales, can be outrageously good deals. The other thing you learn early on when shopping here is when you see a ripper sale on something you want to stock up on, go ahead and get it. Don't expect to go home, think about what a great deal it was, then go back expecting to find that product. The key: Things move fast here; it can often be a "buy it or forget it" choice. But I do personally find it kind of fun shopping here and discovering new and ever-changing stock with great prices. One word to remember - often the ripper deals are on a product that is very near its "use by" date, so make sure you are comfortable with the time frame. Another note about our local G.O.: it is clean and well managed and has a helpful and...

Grocery Outlet is what Cave Junction has needed for years. They got off to a bad start, with the tone deaf move of cutting down the town's long-standing Christmas tree. They've made up for some of it by offering this rural, poor valley groceries at more-than-affordable prices. The employees I've encountered at this location (including the owners and their children) have all been helpful and kind, which is a huge improvement over Shop Smart next door. The missing stores are because of the aforementioned tree cutting, having a large amount of expired food on their shelves, and opening too late for folks like me (with jobs that start at...
Read moreIt can need tricky shopping here because their entire inventory just about is made up of orders by other stores that, when their orders arrived and for whatever reason were refused. GROCERY Outlet buys these up at a reduced cost and passes that on to their customer's. Whoever created this business showed ingenuity in marrying together a good source of income while also taking a bite out of food waste when these orders are refused. Just smart business. The down side is that because what they sell is determined by what is available to them due to refused orders on a daily basis. This means they cannot promise an item you purchased today will be the to purchase the next time you shop.
