Fringe & Co Inc — Attraction in Cedar City

I wish I could give this Salon Negative stars. I went to Fringe Salon by accident and my stylists name was McKenzie. I told her that the color I wanted was an ombré with dark brown to light brown. I showed her a picture and made sure to make myself very clear. I was told by my stylist that she understood. I watched her put super dark nearly black on top and then she went back through the dark with bleach! After leaving the bottom layers of lightner on for about 30 minutes the top layers of lightner stayed on for 15 minutes. She then washed my hair out and told me that she didn't feel comfortable blow drying and styling my hair as it was so damaged, she also neglected to tone my hair. My hair was black on top and a HORRIBLE orange/blonde/red color on the bottom.

Let's be clear. -My hair was not fried when I walked in the door. My hair was in decent to good condition. I was EXTREMELY clear about what I wanted when I sat in her chair.

After I left the salon. I had to have 4 inches of my hair cut off as it was killing itself. It is extremely porous and was hanging lifeless off of my head. I asked the second stylist (at a different salon) what she saw and she informed me that my hair has been bleached way too much. The top part of my hair that was dark was completely fine. The middle to ends were so past ruined she cut off as much as she could.

I called Fringe a few days after I had my hair done, I told them my stylist name and how upset I was. The girl on the phone told me to call McKenzie and talk to her myself. I texted her and she told me she would attempt to fix my hair for me and I informed her that I didn't have the time to drive back up to Cedar and I didn't want to as I didn't trust her to do my hair again, I just wanted her to refund my money. I did not hear back from McKenzie again.

I called the salon 5 times. I got a different answer every time I called. I also never recieved a call back from McKenzie or her Managers. Finally McKenzie texted me and let me know that she "Could not refund me my money."

I am so appalled at how this Salon handled themselves and how their stylist handled herself. I have never seen business handled so unprofessionally.

So I have been going to Fringe Salon for about two years now, and through all the times I have gone there I have only had two bad experiences. The second bad experience is what had me personally decide to go take my business elsewhere. My hair has always been heathy, so when I went in for some color, I got what I didn't see coming, which was extremely ruined and damaged hair. My hair was a very light brown and I decided I wanted to go blonde. I had a reference picture to show my hairdresser. She went in with the bleach and completely killed my hair. When it was being combed out, my ends were falling off. Seriously. They were just falling onto the floor. My hairdresser tried to tell me that it was compleatly normal and that it happens all the time but I did not believe her at all. I have gotten my hair done several times where bleach has been used and my ends have NEVER just fallen off. I paid the $85 and a good tip and got in my car. When I looked down at my black leggings I could see that they were just covered in hair breakage. Anytime I would move or turn my head I could see my hair breaking. By the time I got home I was almost in tears and immediately started on deep conditioning. It has been over a week and my hair is finally starting to feel healthier, but only after I spent $40 more on high quality shampoo and conditioner. I really don't think Fringe is a bad salon, I just happend to have one too many bad experiences. My advice is to be very clear on what you are wanting and if something doesn't look right, say something. I will continue to refer people to Fringe, I just personally will...

This is an update to an older review when I first found my stylist, Marci, at their old location. I have seen Joy as well for facial and waxing services. I'm so happy that I found them after moving here - I've always gotten such great service, extra time spent figuring out what I'm looking for, what I'm hoping to accomplish, at great prices.

Their new location is fresh, modern and there are great services available from hair, to waxing, facials, nails, etc. I've been happy to refer friends with young girls, I've taken my mother and mother in law there to rave reviews - I never hesitate to refer people there.
