When my family and I got there, they were fairly busy but had some open tables. A lady greeted us and said we could sit where we prefer. My partner got his coffee, and we got water (filled to the top) while we looked at the menu. I ordered hot tea, a cup of soup, and eggs Benedict. My son wanted chocolate milk and a piece of pie. My daughter got avocado toast. My partner ordered an egg plate. Ten minutes later, a couple sat next to our table. And a few minutes later, another family got sat. Everyone at the new tables got their drinks, and my son and I didn't get ours. The table was wiggly, and some of the water dripped on the table. We told the server, and she said it was our fault for moving the wiggly table. She didn't try to fix the table. The couple next to us got their food. It looked like egg dishes with country potatoes. By the time they finished, we got the drinks and some of the food. We asked 3 servers for more silverware since we got two sets, but we were 4 people. My son was the last one getting his piece of pie. My partner did not get his toast. We asked the server for it, and she said, "I'll bring it right back." Five minutes later, another server asked him what type of toast he wanted. She went back to the kitchen, and by the time she brought the toast, he had already finished his meal. When we were finished, she asked if we wanted dessert. We said no. I was upset with their bad service. Honestly, the food tasted good. I understand that in the rush time, many things happen. I usually focus on reviewing great places, and I like to highlight their best part. I avoid focusing too much on places that don't give their best, so I rarely write about them. However, I could see how they provided better service to the other tables, and I wonder if their lack of service to us was based on the color of our skin since all the white customers around us didn't had to wait as long as we did. And we didn't order specialty things that would take longer to be prepared, so that's the only thing we had different from the other guests. FYI, I have been in the hospitality business for 10+ years, so I know what the standard tip % is. Please don't lable customers because of how they look. Most times, we tip over the standard 20% I don't think we will be back there. But hey, maybe you'll have better luck, especially if you don't look...
Read moreThe food we ordered took an hour and a half to arrive. Initially we assumed it was because we came at a busy time, but I noticed many customers getting their orders before my wife and I did. Furthermore, the quality of the food itself was very poor for how expensive it was. The burger I ordered had good toppings, but the meat itself was some of the driest I’ve tasted in a burger. It’s almost as if they took an arctic circle burger, put better toppings on it, and charged $10 for it. The biscuits and gravy my wife ordered were not much better either. To top it all off, we also received the wrong check from the wait staff and had to clear it up with them. The only reason why this restaurant isn’t rated one star is because despite the floor being very dirty, the rest of the restaurant appeared very clean and the wait staff noticed our long wait before we were about to ask about the wait. Overall we will not be eating here again, and recommend other local diners...
Read moreNot sure about this place. The people were friendly and came by often to refill coffee cups, but we waited 45 minutes for our food, and it was average at best. The biscuits in the biscuits and gravy were rock hard, I couldn't get a fork through them. I imagine they were frozen, and then cooked before they thawed. We had to ask a couple times for things we had ordered that they forgot like hashbrowns and biscuits. The pancakes were good, as was the French toast. The bacon was burned at one end, and undercooked at the other end. I'm not sure how that's possible. Not sure, but I have to believe the kitchen might only have one cook, or certainly understaffed. Lots of servers and drink refillers so that was great. If your party has more than 4 people, you'll be sitting on a wooden bench at the end of the table.
So I can't say I would eat there again, but it might be worth a visit if you've never been and hopefully you'll have a...
