Good food. Well prepared and flavorful. I loved the staff and service.
Food notes: good enchilada gravy, well prepared and flavorful shredded beef, good salsa and sauces, and good chips. Everything was good and it all came together well. The above mentioned are just the high notes.
I’ve been traveling the US and Canada since the 90s and have eaten at places from sea to shining sea.
Pro tip: use the restroom first. If they don’t keep the bathroom you can inspect clean, can you expect them to keep the kitchen clean?
Nice well appointed minimalist bathroom here. Check.
This place gets two thumbs up. Don’t let the small number of reviews fool you.
The restaurant is new. But the family that owns and runs the place brings 25 years of Mexican restaurant experience with them from Southern California (where they know about such things).
I wish this family all the best in their new location. They deserve it.
P.S. when the waitresses ask the other diners how their meal was, the answers were emphatically good with much happiness! I’ve rarely experienced this in...

Cedar City, Utah has a dozen or more festivals each year. I recently attended the Shakespearian Festival and like pretty much everyone visiting there we were looking for a good place to eat and within walking distance.
We Found It. Las Flores Family Mexica Restaurant located at 126 N Main St, Cedar City, UT 84720 (435) 586-7181
Las Flores Family Mexica Restaurant is just what the name implies. A family run Mexican restaurant with the son greeting and seating the customers, two of the daughters’ serving tables, and mom going back into the kitchen where I’m guessing that dad was busy preparing the meals.
The food is all homemade, very tasty, and reasonably priced.
So if you find yourself in Cedar City at one of their many festivals, and looking for someplace to eat with really good homemade Mexican food that is homemade and served by very friendly staff at a reasonable price … Las Flores Mexican Restaurant is the place you are...
Read moreThis place impressed us tonight!! We’ve been trying to find something even resembling real Mexican food in Utah ever since we left Texas… This place probably comes the closest!! The salsa verde wasn’t really to my taste, but the regular salsa had so much flavor and heat!! I got the Las Flores fajitas (chicken, steak, and shrimp) with chicken tortilla soup and my husband got the birriatacos with a salad. My entire plate was flavorful; the meats, the beans and rice, the soup, everything. My only complaint with mine was that the shrimp came with tails on them, so you had to wait a while for them to cool down to be able to peel them, and by the time that happened, they were way overcooked (probably from staying on the fajita skillet). My husband’s was a little more lacking in flavor, but neither of us regularly get birrias, so it could’ve just been our taste. Overall, this place did a great job and we would probably come back if we were staying even a...
