It was dog day at the pool in Cedar Falls at The Falls It is really cool that they do this. Super fun for the family. Amazing and friendly staff one of the many ways to keep cool on a hot day. #husky #playtime #huskylife #dogcare #unconitionalhappiness #doglife #iowa #cedarfallsiowa #thefallspool #familyfun #dailyexcersise

I wouldn’t normally have anything bad to say about the Falls other than that it is always crowded. That said, my opinion was changed today from an unfortunate experience with staff member regarding the child I was with and his disability. After leaving the kids area due to a sensory overload, we tried for the lazy river. On the rules posted outside the river on the brown sign it only specified height requirements and that anyone below that requirement could be walked in a tube by an adult (later, they posted additional signage). We at first tried to get the six year old to sit in the tube but it was a real challenge; he did not like the loss of control of where he went and didn’t want to get splashed. He ended up walking in his tube, and we were approached by a lifeguard and I explained the situation and that we’d get out at the next stop. She informed us that if we visited the front desk we would be able to get him a wristband to allow for that accommodation. Each lifeguard we passed along the way offered similar comments so I took the child I was nannying up to the front desk. There I explained the situation to a young man that was extremely dismissive and said that he wasn’t going to give us a wristband just for one part of the park. At that point he asked “Well what else can’t he do?”. That question is insensitive to say the least and I was a bit stunned so we just walked away. Of course there are things that the boy couldn’t do, but to have to list them all in some sort of disability Olympics felt unnecessary. Not to mention doing this in front of this completely cognizant first grader felt cruel. There needs to be some sort of training that all staff members undergo on accessibility and reasonable accommodation. There should also be a list of those accommodations ready for the public. My frustration lies mainly in the lack of continuity among staff members and the way in which the male staff member at the front desk responded to the request. Fortunately we have other options for pools in the area as this was not a pleasant experience. Shoutout to Byrnes which has been our favorite this summer.

Cute place I took my kids in the early 2000’s & returned with my stepdaughter in 2023. Not much has changed except the price a BIT, yet still worth the $ if in the area. One star off as they have trash EVERYWHERE I kept picking up while CF PD was there doing NOTHING, not even when a small fight started at the concessions, with some disrespectful teens and an elderly lady I defended! I would recommend it still, not much else to do in CF anymore.

Well in all honesty the ladies at the front in the beginning were really rude. Then we get all the way inside and paid and everything a couple hours later we asked if we could go run to our car. They said no if we did we’d have to re-pay. Then their concession stand was not open and we could not bring anything in. Also you have to wear a mask coming in and exiting but you cannot wear a mask in the water but they want you to wear the mask going from pool the pool where are you supposed to put your mask like it doesn’t make any sense to me and they’re extremely rude about it. I am all for wearing math I’m definitely not against it if they want you to wear a mask I’ll wear a mask I just don’t understand how we’re supposed to wear a mask going from lazy river to the pool to the slide and where we r supposed to put our mask and how sanitary it is to pick up another mask if you do leave it on the side I just I don’t get it. In times like these I just really thought we were supposed to help each other not try to rob each other for...

Decided to go to the falls on my only day off work this week with my little family. Got there around 2:30PM swam a little bit, went to the food court, arrived back to big pool area to see everyone was cleared out of the pool, cuz someone’s kid shit in the smaller area attached to the big pool with the cones that tip. So we packed our things and headed to leave, I asked the 2 girls at front desk if I could get any sorts of refund and they told me “they don’t give any sort of refunds” I said “that’s really disappointing cuz now we’re leaving” and the other girl mentioned that the lap pool would open again at 4:25pm (which is attached to the big pool) I said I wasn’t gonna swim in water that someone shit in…. So we get back in car around 4:03pm, I was gonna try calling to speech to a manager just for me to call and it say they’re not taking calls right now…. VERY DISAPPOINTED $ wasted and our time just for less than 2...
