Possibly the best chocolate on the planet, right here in Cedar Park! I just made my second visit since a year ago, and I'm not sure why I took so long to return; this place is a gem! The chocolate making is clearly a family affair, and the proprietor and his family are super sweet and engaging and are clearly passionate about the chocolate. A year ago, when I first visited, they were only producing chocolate in bar form (either that, or I just didn't see the bonbons). The chocolate was delicious, but I wondered how well the business would perform without a little more variety. This year I stopped in for some Christmas shopping, and they were hand-making bonbons. Fillings included raspberry, mango, pineapple, passion fruit, cognac, and more. They're available individually (I think it was $1.50 each) or can be packed in cute dozen-sized boxes. I went with two boxes, each with an assortment. Since these were destined for close family members who were willing to share ;) I'm able to report that these are hands down the most delicious chocolate creations I've ever experienced. I enthusiastically recommend this little shop. We are fortunate this family chose to plant roots in Cedar Park.

I can honestly say that the passion fruit bonbon made here is absolutely the most delicious thing I have ever tasted. The chocolates, which at most contain just...four...ingredients, are unbelievable. Someone else described the experience as "magical," and I think that's the exact word for it. The owner (Carlos) was warm and kind and explained every bit of the process he goes through to make their chocolates (and yes, they are hand made right there in the shop, and sourced from a single cacao plantation in Ecuador, which they own). You can tell that his family has a passion and love for this business, and their craftsmanship and artistry is inspiring. This place is a gem and should not be missed. I believe that this is a must visit for anyone coming through Austin.

KVUE featured the owner of Ecuadorian Chocolate Factory in their Hispanic Heritage Month segment today. So, we decided to stop by for treats. Everything tastes so good! The chocolate melts in your mouth and isn't overly sweet since it's not milk chocolate. We loved everything we got but the truffles were out overall favorite. We would definitely recommend trying them out. Pictured from top center clockwise: *Chocolate Dipped Bananas - Sliced and dried bananas dipped in 55% cacao chocolate. *Toffee Bark - 55% Cacao Chocolate with toffee & pecan *Chocolate Dipped Mango - Sliced and dried mango dipped in 55% cacao chocolate. *Tropical Bark - 55% cacao chocolate with coconut, mango, papaya & pineapple. *Raspberry and Coffee Truffles (Individual flavors, not combined)

Happened upon the Ecuadorian Chocolate Factory after dinner in hopes for a small bite of chocolate, we got that and so much more. The moment we walked in the warm greeting from Carlos was just the beginning of an almost magical lesson in chocolate! He joyfully explains how the chocolate is made while offering samples that were amazing. We were delighted by his knowledge and the story of his family’s cacao bean farm in Ecuador. We left with more than a small bite, 4 bars of different chocolate, 2 bags of chocolate dipped bananas and coconut, and 12 coffee bonbons. As we passed our treats around the discussion was focused on our return to the chocolate factory and who did we know that we could gift with some this wonderful chocolate. Let’s be honest though, we will be gifting...
