i donât even know where to begin with how my day went today. the moment i received a phone call from the Doctor at Coyne Veterinary Center of CP, he explained to me how brody was over-vaccinated by accident and became unresponsive prior to his grooming appointment that was to follow. he was given three vaccines at once and more to follow for his yearly check up. I truly believe if i stayed there this would never have happened. i was told word for word that multiple vaccines given to a small dog most likely will cause a reaction better yet life threatening which is why he was closely monitored till closing tonight. he became responsive after they pushed epi and other sub-q meds along with oxygen to get him back to his normal state. once they got his the heart rate up and running normally, they proceeded to groom him. (first off, why groom him if he literally just laid out on your table....oh thatâs right money is more important) he had another severe reaction again during his bath to the his vaccines that he broke out in welted hives throughout his body and his face swelled up, in fear that next would be his throat. He was put on IV fluids, benadryl, and steroids, and monitored all day till 7pm this evening. thankfully, he is back in my arms and back to his normal self.
the moment i heard the word unresponsive, i lost it. the thought of losing my baby today or not being able to see him one last time was all i could think about. brody is one strong boy â„ïž brooklyn was so happy to see him come home tonight. lots of kisses for brodybear đ»â„ïž
i am mentally exhausted after what could have easily been avoided if they just followed protocol and schedule his vaccines apart rather than hurry him up and on to the next task. thank you coyne for ringing me up for a grooming bill of $99 and later another bill for brodyâs medications he has to take the next two weeks because of what YOU caused! this is my final strike with Coyne! youâve not only almost costed my dogs life but youâve done this before with brooklyn by holding her over 8 hours for a grooming appt on a work day of mine in the past and caused her to catch kennel cough while being surrounded by ill dogs all because you forgot to contact me for her to be picked up in a timely manner. you cannot cage healthy animals around sickly unhealthy animals! your company is exactly what i thought it was, money hungry. walk-ins are always welcomed, they donât set any appts for pets, they just say bring your dog before 9am and they will groom them whenever they get to them throughout the day. pathetic! they treat our unconditional loved ones like cattle! the care, safety, and health of our loved ones cannot just be a walk in assembly or treated as an in and out fast paced procedure. save yourself ten seconds next time per vaccine since brody IS A SMALL DOG, knowing itâs common for SMALL DOGS to have a life threatening reaction if you over do it. common sense!!!
just for another WOW, during check out i come to find out after receiving their vet bill being broke down each dog without my membership would have costed $299 each for their yearly vaccines. i thought being a member paying $78 a month for my dogs to go here would help me out more and not have to pay such a big chunk of money all in one day....well i was wrong. $78 x 12mos = $936!!! $299 + $299 = $598!!!! i WILL FIND A NEW VET and i will be paying $598 for vaccines to be properly done again next year. it is not about the money but when you actually think about the type of care iâm paying for is asinine!! iâm paying FOR zero protocol and zero care for my dogs to be set up for unwanted health issues caused by them!
D O N E!
special thank you to my mom for picking up brooklyn who they refrained from giving multiple vaccines to seeing how brody turned out. Also, thank you to ashley and mike for being there and allowing me to vent all day to either of them while i was by myself at the vet all day, you guys are the best! special thank you to bill for taking me to go pick up brody after this...
Read moreI adopted a dog a few months ago and started talking my dog to this facility because on paper it seemed like an ideal place for my dog. For whatever reason I chose to ignore a lot of the red flags this place displayed because of their no appointment based model but wow this place will disappoint you at every turn possible. The first red flag was the first week I got my dog and took it there for a check-up. The vet checking him out told me to come pick him up but when I arrived the facility was closed (my dog had came there 3 hours before closing time). The woman who opened the door had a huge attitude and said "FYI and for the future we are closed at this time". I said well the doctor told me to come to get my dog, and that seem to change her attitude. I decided to brush it off and continue to bring my dog there for day care and medical treatment. If you are going to get your pet treated there, just prepare to take off work because it will take a while for them to see your pet. Unless you go towards the end of the day-don't go in the morning, they will not see your dog any faster if you come first thing. My dog was badly injured by an unleashed dog in the morning, it took 3 hours for medical attention. Also you ill never see the same exact vet, and they never read prior notes. They tried to administer a blood panel test 3 times, which was nuts because they already conducted one....but because the doctors kept changing they just didn't realize one was on file.
I took my dog there for boarding a few times and for whatever reason, he was always given loads of his food back (which tells me they were feeding him their food) and I was never given an explanation. They also would give your dog a bath if your dog stays more than two nights, but every time my dog did stay you can tell they gave him the bath the day I would pick him up. He was always wet when I came to get him. It just felt rushed. I've never experienced this with any other groomer. Also don't expect them to tell you anything about your pet while it's in their care.
My last straw with this location came recently when it came to day care. My dog was a regular at day care until he wasn't because of medical issues. When he was able to attend day care, the kennel manager for whatever reason refused to put my dog in day care. They just literally had him sit in a kennel or "day board" all day. They didn't call, there isn't any noted issues with any dogs or staff. They just decided to keep doing it, after I spoke with multiple attendants about not having him sit in a kennel for 6+ hours. What makes it even worse is that the kennel manager for whatever reason hasn't decided to provide anyone with an explanation on why it kept happening, none of the staff members have any clue. It also dawned on me that this isn't the first time they decided to switch him to dayboard with out my consent. When you attend daycare at Coyne, you are to receive a card telling you how your dog's day went. Well we've may have only received 3 cards out of the maybe 10+ times he's been to day care. And the cards never check off what he really did, occasionally they would write a small note on the back. Well, one of the last times we took him to day care, I asked him where is his card, and she responded "what card". Well when you do day board you don't receive a card and then we realized that their must have been many times they've elected to place him in day board. That also explains that when we asked for a card other times it would take us forever to receive one that we would literally just leave. We noticed his behavior is different of course from when he gets to do day care compared to day board. With dayboard all you get is 10 minutes of cuddle time but hours locked in a kennel. One day we tried to just even get him into daycare but it took an hour for me to even check in (40 minutes before the lady would even speak to us about check in, and 20 minutes in the waiting in the lobby before leaving). And when we left they called 10 minutes later...
Read moreDear Coyne Veterinary Management, I am writing to formally express my serious concerns regarding the recent treatment and handling of my 4-year-old Rottweiler, a current patient at your facility, as well as the consistently unprofessional behavior I have experienced from your staff. My dog is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm diseaseâa condition that requires strict adherence to a low-stress, low-activity regimen as instructed by your own medical team. On August 4, 2025, she received an injection and was boarded overnight. On August 5, I was provided written and verbal instructions stating that she must remain kenneled at all times except for controlled leash walks. However, on August 16, during another boarding stay with our two other dogs, your staff released the Rottweiler to my boyfriend, despite his clearly stating he was only there to pick up the other two dogs. This directly contradicted our instructions and created unnecessary stress for her. Furthermore, upon seeing her, he noticed she was soaking wetâher neck and chest completely drenchedâwhile the other two dogs were dry and had not been bathed. This is especially concerning as she should not have been bathed at all due to her medical condition, and no consent was given for such a service. When I arrived 40 minutes later to pick her up, I found her still wet, visibly distressed, and not acting like herself. Your staff admitted she had been bathed, citing your policy of bathing dogs after boarding stays. However, this explanation is inconsistent, as the same policy was not applied when she was boarded on August 4, nor were our other dogs bathed during this same visit. Furthermore, if this policy exists, it should be clearly communicated and never applied when it poses a direct health risk to the animal. When I raised my concerns with your staffâparticularly with AllisonâI was met with dismissiveness and condescension. I experienced a severe emotional response, including a panic attack, and instead of receiving empathy or accountability, I was told I was âoverreactingâ and ânot allowing them to fix it.â Offering to dry my dog was not a solutionâit was a further stressor and completely beside the point.I also want to document the consistently unprofessional conduct of your front desk staff, especially Kristen. She is consistently rude, dismissive, and unwilling to assist clients. She has ignored me on several occasions, rolled her eyes, and has even stopped other staff members from helping me. Her attitude is unacceptable for someone working in customer service, especially in a facility dealing with animals and their concerned owners. This is not the first troubling incident Iâve experienced at Coyne, but it is by far the most serious. As a paying client who has trusted your facility with the care of multiple pets, I am appalled by the negligence, lack of communication, and lack of accountability displayed during this situation. I am formally requesting: 1.A written explanation and acknowledgment of the events that occurred during my dogâs August 16â17 boarding stay.2.An explanation of your bathing policy and why it was applied inconsistently.3.Immediate assurance that no unauthorized treatments or services will be performed on my pets in the future.4.Disciplinary action or retraining for staff members involved, particularly regarding communication, consent, and professionalism.5.A direct follow-up call or written response from a managerânot a general staff member. If I do not receive a satisfactory response, I will consider escalating this issue to veterinary regulatory authorities and social media platforms to ensure other pet owners are aware of the risks involved.Thank you for your immediate attention to...
