Elis Golden Apple Restaurant and Pancake House — Restaurant in Center Township

I came to visit my friend and she was telling me about this establishment and how good the food was. We went for brunch. We walked in the hostess was very nice big smile on her face then, we met Marabel our server. Marabel’s first response was what are we drinking? Now I manage servers and bartenders and I use to be one myself so the first reaction was not pleasant or welcoming. We order mimosas Miss Marabel came back and asked us if we were ready to order we told her to give us a few minutes. She came back were ready. We ordered apps first then our meal. Now let’s talk about the meal. My friend order a side Caesar salad and she wanted to add buffalo tenders to it. Miss Marabel told her that the cooks can’t put the tenders on the salad but they will put it on the side… side eye for me because you have a buffalo chicken salad but can’t get romaine, parmesan, and croutons toss up the dressing and put buffalo tenders on it hmm got it ok! My friend also ordered as her entree a pasta. Now my order was spinach dip as the app and ribeye sandwich…now I wanted to add pepper jack cheese and I noticed on their menu it says add on onion strings for $1.50 add on soup for $2.00. So I added the onion strings on my sandwich which was served with your option of fries, Cajun fries, coleslaw, etc so I wanted the Cajun fries. Food came out my friend had a regular Caesar salad( it was supposed to be a side) with cut up buffalo tenders on the side. My spinach came out cold I waved for Miss Marabel told her about it. It was fixed. Then our entree came out boom it was great until I looked at why I had so many onion strings on a side plate and my bread on my sandwich came out separately which it wasn’t loaded but anywho maybe this is what they do. We get the check and see some charges that we wanted to question. We called for Miss Thang I’m changing her name up because once we started asking for the manager who was not there then ask for the chef she said what do you want him for?? Now all we wanted is to be heard and understand the prices that’s all but when you have someone being rude and cutting you off while trying to explain is very distasteful. I don’t know if Miss thang was having a bad day but I was over it because clearly she didn’t want to work that day her attitude was TRASH. She never came back to the table I had to wave her down to come back and we left a note on her receipt to work on your customer service! Now we called this establishment and ask to speak with the manager while we were inside the hostess who was the only nice person we encountered kindly took my friends information and told her the manager will contact us back. Next morning the manager was rude to my friend saying oh your the friend with the onion strings I will have the owner call you and hung up…. What type of people are you hiring Eli????? Which there still was no call back and I sent email as well. So my review is literally an essay on how bad my experience was at this establishment. Don’t eat here it’s a waste of time! Will never go back! Clearly won’t be hearing from anyone else and...

This place was a really bad time. First going in, the hostess was rude and looked like she couldn’t careless about her job. She sat us at a table and was rushing us to order drinks. The menu is old and looks disgusting, there are too many things and it’s all red font on yellow backgrounds. The whole menu was filthy and sticky. The menu looks like it’s from the 80s and needs massive updating. The specials paper was just a printed out crusty paper. We ordered coffee, the hostess overfilled them and the coffee was spilling out on the plate. When you add creamer or anything, it caused it to over flow because there was no room. The coffee was old and disgusting, there was no saving it. When the waitress came over, we weren’t sure if we wanted to stay or leave and she got an attitude with us. We had to flag someone down so we could pay for the undrinkable coffee and leave. They wouldn’t let us see the receipt until we paid, so we paid and then see they charged us a $1 extra for each coffee. When asking about it, we were told there was a sign on the door saying everything on the menu was raised a $1 which we explained we didn’t see any signs anywhere that said that. We still paid over $5 for 2 undrinkable coffees. As we left, I looked at their “sign” and no where did it say “every single item was raised by a $1 now” it only had certain items. I told them that, took a photo, and I left. I’ll never be returning back to this place. It was filthy inside and one of the waitress with curly hair was coughing and not covering her mouth. My husband and I decided to eat here because of the nice reviews.. but after our visit on Friday morning I don't see how they got good reviews at all. we first got there they seat us at a table that wasnt unsturdy. couldn't even put water on without the table moving back and forth. then they moved us to another table it was fine. the waitress came she took our order and with our ordered wanted turkey sausage. so about 15 minutes later which our food should have been coming out, she comes back to tell us they ran out of turkey sausage, my husband asked why you're just telling us it been 15min? She says she has 20 tables to wait on, the place probably hold about 25 if that, its not that big of a place. so I told her that we would have to change our order so we got a menu and it took her another 10 min to come back to take our order. now I'm getting frustrated, as I was ordering my meal she started to take my husband's order and he said to her you didn't finish taking my wife's order how did you know if she was done ordering, you seem like you're rushing us. She went to say AGAIN how busy she was. I ordered the western skillet when it finally came out another 15min it was wrong! it had steak when I wanted chicken! I just couldn't go through all what we just went through so I kept it. which it wasn't good at all the meat was very bland and chewy...but my husband loved his omelette. It was not a good...
