"The Platters, The Drifters, and The Coasters" tour took place on February 2, 2025 at The Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, featuring "The Legends of Doo Wop". The venue was a nostalgic musical journey that brought together three of the most iconic groups from the 1950s and 60s. Each band is known for defining the sound of a generation, and the concert delivers on that legacy with a mix of timeless classics, smooth vocals, and infectious energy.
The night kicked off with The Coasters, who set the tone with their lively and engaging performance. They thrilled the audience with hits like "Poison Ivy", "Blue Moon", "Yakkety Yak" and "Charlie Brown." Known for their playful performances, they bring a lighter tone to the evening with their quick wit and high-energy stage presence. Following that, The Platters delivered an outstanding set, seamlessly blending pop, R&B, and doo-wop elements. Their music is characterized by lush vocal arrangements, with smooth lead vocals supported by rich harmonies from the rest of the group, creating timeless hits like "Twilight Time", "Only You", "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes", and "The Great Pretender". These songs have an enduring appeal, thanks to their emotive lyrics, memorable melodies, and the group's impeccable vocal execution. Their ability to combine doo-wop and smooth pop elements with heartfelt lyrics and stunning vocal delivery makes them one of the most cherished vocal groups in music history.
The highlight of the night was The Drifters, whose performance was nothing short of mesmerizing. They captivated the audience with classics like "Honey Love", "On Broadway", "This Magic Moment", and "Under the Boardwalk." With a stunning light show, powerful vocals, and an engaged audience, they closed the event on a high note.

Read moreAbsolutely the worst experience ever. One side of doors are closed resulting in an extremely long line that didn't leave room for the handicapped to enter due to a rope blocking the way. The employee checking purses (when did that start? as our previous events were canceled). The employee was rude so I spoke rudely back. No explanations to the crowd . We were told repeatedly that she would let us through yet ignored everyone in line. A couple if people with canes eye complaining about the standing and waiting. The employee said, "I told you I'll get to you." Finally, she called a manager, who wasn't much help, but did get a few of us in. After searching our purses, she commented again about me being rude. I replied, oh, you haven't seen rude for the way all of you are treating all th people like a herd of animals." We can't be refunded for our other tickets but, believe me, we won't be back and we will share this horrendous experience. Sadly, this has marred the wonderful years we've been coming here. By the way. the show is late, probably because of the "herd" of people still...
Read moreI went to see the Adam’s Family last night and there were so many things that upset and/or concerned me. There were only chips offered for food. Any establishment that is going to serve alcohol should provide some food healthy food options. Maybe you should consider a food truck outside, if you don’t have a kitchen or whatever. Maybe even coffee and/or tea with pastries at intermission. Our wines were way over-priced at $16 a glass. Maybe your staff should tour other venues like Mark Taper/Dorothy Chandelier, Segerstrom, and other places to get ideas. The room was freezing cold. When I mentioned this to the Usher, they insisted that it was supposed to be due to the play being performed. Maybe you should mention this to people when they buy their tickets, so we could bring coats. The only actors who were intelligible were the ones who played Mr. Adams and Alice. The signage to the entry off of the back parking lots is not very well marked. It’s set-back and not very noticeable. If I ever come to your facility again, I’m eating food and wine first and...
