DO NOT LIVE HERE! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This is quite possibly one of the most disgusting apartment I have ever lived in. The management is completely hands-off when it comes to any sort of cleanliness or decent sanitation in the common areas. The lobby is frequently extremely dirty with trash and literal food on the ground. One of the elevators has not worked for the past 3 months, and now, it would appear both elevators are broken! The gym, advertised as "State of the Art Facility" and it features a bench with what looks to be a massive bite taken out of it (see photo). The TV's in the gym don't work, some machines are broken. The stairs have slime and sticky Jell-O shots spilled over them, which haven't been cleaned in the last 4 weeks. Absolutely unacceptable for the amount of money this overpriced apartment costs. Front desk staff are lazy, unhelpful, and it seems they couldn't care less about their job! Check out the attachments for some fun content :)

I know move out can be hectic, but this is absolutely ridiculous... I would not recommend....

My favorite feature at 212 East is the social atmosphere.

I would not recommend the 212 apartment complex and would give it a zero-star rating if that was an option. While the property itself is nice, the management and service are terrible. We had an extremely frustrating experience. My student sublet the unit and had already connected with the new roommates prior to moving in, but the management completely mixed up the lease. Instead, they assigned random roommates without informing us. We didn’t even know what unit my student was moving into—or if they had a unit at all—until we arrived at the property. Despite reaching out to the front desk multiple times in the four weeks leading up to the move-in date, we were given different excuses each time. Shockingly, even the General Manager Hali pretended to be not GM when my student contacted her about the lease mix-up. When we escalated the issue to property management, they assured us that the Regional Manager would reach out. However, she only did so after my student had already moved in—far too late to resolve anything. While the property itself may be nice, my student is unable to live comfortably or enjoy their apartment—despite paying rent—due to the behavior of some randomly assigned roommates who have been acting like bullies. We made every effort to avoid this situation before move-in, but management failed to respond. I’ve also heard that they frequently mess up leases and fail to take responsibility. Had we known this beforehand, my student would never have signed with 212. Additionally, I’ve heard that tenants struggle to get their deposits back at the end of their lease—something we’re already dreading. After writing this review, I wouldn’t be surprised if my student doesn’t receive the full deposit. Do yourself a favor and avoid leasing here. There are plenty of other apartment complexes with better management...

don't sign lease here in Oct.

  1. they will accept your lease, 1 month before move in July they will email that due to computer error they don't the apartment for you and would suggest you to take a lease in another place managed by them. the new place is not good to live. If they put you into this situation contact the university legal team and an attorney. send a legal letter. The same 212 E apartment will become magically available and assigned to you
  2. they try to deny the lease for early signed students or lease which was singed with deals. they try to give this place to people who are ready to pay higher rent with new lease signed in may / june. they blame it in computer error and this happens every year.
  3. they have a portal to pay the utilities fee and by default you have a pay a big fee to use portal. no other options to pay the monthly utility charges. a good management company will cover this in the rent and give a place to pay the monthly fees without a subscription charge to portal. 212 E just want to make extra money using this portal
  4. some of the rooms get too cold in winter. the heater doesn't work 100% for certain rooms. when you complaint (after 4 to 6 weeks and 20+ calls) they maintenance team will bring a old junk floor heater and say the room HVAC has a known issue so use the floor heater. why can't they fix it in summer when the room in vacant? They don't want to
  5. be prepared to use stairs always. one elevator will be down most of the time (80%) the second elevator will be down (for few weeks) forcing you to use stairs. when you complaint they say "we are waiting for the elevator company to fix". never seen that in other places.
  6. hallway will be dirty they don't clean. parking lot will be worst with glass and trash.. never cleaned. will not recommend this place, not worth for the...

I had to rewrite my review for this place because earlier I wrote it to enter a giveaway.

I moved out because the staff was so very difficult to deal with when issues arose. Before I initially signed, I had heard rumors that the management wasn’t that great but I chose to overlook it because of the quality and price of the apartment. However, issues do arise and you frequently do need to reach out to the leasing managers, and everytime I dealt with them, they were rude despite me speaking in a friendly tone.

Additionally, I heard that they cancelled so many peoples leases that signed very early on, and 1-2 months before move in they informed them that they don’t have a space available forVed them out. My friends got screwed over because of this and they also don’t 100% guarantee you’ll stay with the people you chose to be as roommates. I also re-signed very early on and they told me I would get to keep my same unit the next year but they made me move out anyway. I’m theorizing it is because people who sign earlier on pay less, and they want to keep the people who sign later on (who pay more close to 900) so they can maximize profits. I could be wrong tho.

I do however, want to give my fair and honest insight which is why I’ll give this place 2 stars instead if 1, and say that maintence is really freakin great. Everytime we had an issue they were so prompt, and the front desk student workers are super friendly too. I loved their amenities especially the huge fridge and they had a great price, and a great location (despite occasional noise from the bar across the street and parties being held in the courtyard)

But even despite these great things, the way that the leasing managers treat their student residents and have evidently screwed a lot of people over makes me not want to recccomnend...
