I walk around the perimeter of Desert Breeze park about 4 to 5 times a week. I Like to watch the sporting events going on and the Lake is very calming to walk around. But I have been getting more and more frustrated as I walked the perimeter and see all of the places where plants used to be. You can spot them very easily because even though the plants haven't been there for several years, those locations are still being watered. When I walk the perimeter of the entire park I count 185 locations where there used to be a Bush or a Tree, where water is still being dispersed on a regular basis, just to evaporate into oblivion. I have added circle pictures showing the barren landscape. We, the citizens of Chandler, paid good money for those plants but the city didn't pay good money to have them maintained. Maintaining those plants should be a Mandate by whoever is the supervisor in charge of park maintenance and upkeep. I visit some of the other parks and they look beautiful with well maintained landscaping and I am ashamed that my park, Desert Breeze, is just left on the wayside and not maintained. I'm going to start posting pictures of all of the Large areas where plants used to be, where there are only 2 or 3 now and there used to be 20 to 25 in the same area. I want to start shaming are counsel people for letting this waste happen. Get off your burrs and walk the park. See the wasted appropriation $$. I have a happy solution that I think would be a nice community project. Mark all of the locations where a plant used to be and allow citizens to bring their own plants in and get reimbursed up to $20 for bringing in a plant and let us plant in every location where there's water still watering that area. I think it would be a great springtime project for the whole community. I'm sure we we even get the big Box stores to donate the plants. Putting a new plant in the ground is easy, maintaining it requires constant attention and the city needs to hire a proper people to maintain the beauty...

Big park to play at. Can go fishing in the ponds--we didn't, but it's nice to have that opportunity.

We primarily went for the train and carousel ride. Only downfall was there was one ride operator. What does that mean? Well, the person driving the train is the one that operates the carousel.

So the train was scheduled for every 1/2 hour. I believe the train was about an 11-15 minute ride, gives the operator a chance to unload and say his goodbyes getting the train and then hustle over to the carousel to let people on. Operate the carousel, say his goodbyes, then hustle back to the train.

We got off the train to go on the carousel. Carousel had no operator. We stood waiting, but another guy came out and didn't operate the carousel.. He went to the train. So we went back there. The main operator was nice and friendly (big dude with the eloquent, booming voice). I do believe he was on a break when the other person came out. He was not in a uniform and we did not understand his speech. He rushed so fast it was incomprehensible. Turns out this guy who was rushing through the speech for the train ride, my mother witnessed him messing around in the kitchen. He got ketchup in another (female) employee's hair. Then this female was complaining (with every right), but it was all seen through the window. She was trying to get the ketchup out of her hair while in the kitchen... Ummm, what kind of food and sanitation laws does Arizona have? 🤢

Another thing, another employee that was handling money for tickets/wristbands was also handling food... No gloves, just her bare hands. Seriously, that's disgusting.

Also, girl with blue hair, there was no need to speed through the train ride. Good grief.

We were there for the rides, but it needs to be known what was happening. I understand it's a fun place, but the employees should act...
