Came to drop off 2 bags for donation. Rude guy came out and was very pushy, demanding and loudly asked me what kind of donation I had. I said it was a mixed bag of things. He pointed to the clothing and said if it's clothing, over there and if it's anything else it's over there. I put my things in the other area. He ripped the bag open and yelled over to me "ma'am we do not take hangers!" I didn't remember putting hangers in the bag, so I started to say I didn't.... Then he cut me off and screamed "I just took these out of your bag!" And forcefully handed them to me. I went to take the hangers and turn around, and he said "what, do you think we should just take everything? I don't understand what the attitude is for!" I literally said 2 words to this man. No attitude from anyone but him. Puzzled and really taken back, I said "no, I'm just trying to drop my things off and I think you're being extremely pushy." I was not, at any time, raising my voice, but he was from the beginning and extremely aggressive. I have never been treated so poorly over a simple donation. I will never come back here. I've left some incredibly nice things, since I'm moving out of state. Now I wish I'd taken them...
Read moreSpoke to manager, John, about noticeable increased profiling that is EXTREMELY evident when I visit this store (which I have been visiting for many years, with no concerns). The advantage that is afforded me, is watching half of my White family members visit the store, on various occasions, and not receive the “attention” that I receive when I enter, so this is definitely not a misunderstanding. I spoke with Manager John, explaining that I understood the plight, as I have seen people run out the door, with unpaid merchandise, as I have been walking in. “However”, I continued, “there has to be a better way to surveil suspected shoplifters, without making innocent regulars feel singled out”. John spent the conversation dismissively suggesting that it was in my head. He never apologized for the experience, but rather gave me multiple reasons that what I experienced did not happen. He suggested I report the individual employees. But, why would I do that? I don’t blame an employee for doing what they have been instructed to do. The change will come from management, but you’d have to care about the issue first. The one star is because Manager John was calm as he tolerated my interruption to...
Read moreVery high prices and a stealing problem OR items are not looked over before being placed on sales floor.
Their prices are high on basic items like $5-$10+ for plush? Why is a TY Beanie Boo used cost more at GW than it does at retail stores new? Food encrusted insulated bag with busted zipper for $10? Also love seeing prices on boxes that are clearly empty.
Their black label prices will make you roll your eyes and leave the store. $50-$100s+
I also love picking out DVDs or CDs I'd like to purchase, only to find out the cases are empty! Staff seems annoyed when I tell them. (I always give empty cases to staff to toss, anywhere I go so others dont possibly make the mistake of purchasing without looking). Yesterday every single one I wanted was empty. 6+ items.
Boardgames are taped; that's fine. I always open to look to see if it's complete. There was a game I was interested in yesterday. Upon opening the box there was wads of tape and food wrappers inside.. yum.. You can't at least peek inside boxes before taping them up and slapping a price on them..?
2 stars because at least this location was clean & organized compared to...
