Charles Town Races And Slots — Attraction in Charles Town

My wife and I have been going to Charlestown for over thirty years. The slots changed to whole place. Right now,with the covid restrictions, alot of machines are closed. We went there last week when they reopened. We went on Saturday. You have to wear a mask but that's standard now with the covid deal. You have to enter in the front entrance drive- all other ways in are blocked. They guide you to park in rear most parking garage . You have to go down to the ground floor where they guide you back out into a amusement park style line in the ground floor parking lot. Thankfully.they put a big fan out there or the air would be horrendous. If you are old or caring for someone with physical weakness,please consider using your wheelchairs. Standing in the line wasn't too long but to a person fighting lifes issues ,its alot slower then for a healthy person. Our wait to get in was only about just under twenty minutes. They take your temp and in you go. Once inside , I was dismayed how dirty the slot machines chrome and screens were. We went right before they closed, months ago, and every machine looked like it was polished clean! So they could really have done a much better job. Some of the slot machines were actually sticky- like a lazy employee used the same rag and bucket over and over and over. Someone in management missed this big time. Alot of slots were turned off. I expected the slots in the middle to be off but not two in a three row deal. The slots were pretty tight as you would expect with being closed for months . The food court was open but only one food vendor and one bar vendor was open. I really expected the burger joint on the right side to be open but it wasn't. We really like the burgers and fries there. So happy with the short line- really not happy with the cleaning- not happy with the limited food vendors either. As far as the slots- well,maybe you'll have better luck. Charlestown still is a great place to bring your limited mobility loved ones. Its flat with ramps and electric doors all around. Just bring your wheelchairs or walkers- Charlestown has wheelchairs but I didn't see them out. They'll do a better job...we'll be...

I don't like playing the slots here. When they do pay anything, it is very little. I play free play every so often and refuse to play anymore. I know odds in house favor but I don't see many winning hardly anything. Smoke smell is horrible. Would think that with Covid, why allow smoking inside. Need better ventilation and move smoking to the back so smell doesn't hit at entrance. Make the sports book area completely no smoking. I do like to go there to bet on sports. I can spend less on that than slots and spend more time on it. I have played table game a few times and it's ok but I don't play but a few hands and try to walk away a little ahead. They blocked off too many handicap parking spaces for the temporary roped off entry due to Covid. Free drink machine removed due to Covid and not a lot staff walking around to serve drinks. Need to clean slots more often and install sanitizer wipes stations throughout. Not many places to eat inside but it's Covid time so I get it. I've been coming to the casino for many years and my husband also. We always spend hundreds of dollars and nothing in any winnings. The machines suck! Also we were there February 18th and all the Keno machines broke down every 15 minutes. We love playing the Keno machines, either they are broke down or theirs not enough of machines to play. We have been at other casinos and there Keno machines are so nice and new and also good winnings! Also your music is terrible, it would be nice to listen to relaxing music instead of head banging music and not so loud! Between loud machines and your music it's enough to give you a headache while playing! Also it's terrible when you shut down bathrooms for construction. Construction should be done very late at night and early morning. Busy hours you should be able to use the bathroom!
