Green Dragon Inc. — Attraction in Charleston

When I was little, my mom would take me to the Green Dragon. I was always amazed by how cool their shop was- all the interesting figurines and books and items never found in regular stores. Mom would let me pick out a kid's comic, like the old school Sonic the Hedgehog comics and the classics like Archie, which became part of my earliest influences as an artist. Without Green Dragon, I wouldn't have had access to such things, so I feel grateful for having them as a part of our community. Growing older I've realized just how vital they are to us, not just for providing unique merchandise but as an enduring haven for gamers and collectors alike. There are regulars to the Green Dragon, and everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable about their favorite subjects. This is the kind of place you can come in with friends and set up a game and play all day if you'd like. I love the rich geek culture that's going on here. Friendly staff and patrons. It has a pretty large amount of store stock giving people who are just browsing many interesting choices.

I'm not big into comics, but it seems like they have a little more than most chain book stores offer.

Their RPG and board game selection is just great. They offer a full range of books and box sets for most popular RPGs. They have a fair to middling assortment of miniatures, but carry a few really neat set pieces and have a wide array of the DND mystery minnies available for single purchase.

They have good public events including Friday Night Magic, board game groups, and RPG games. Pathfinder seems to be the local favorite and there's a bit of 5th ed DND. I've visited the Green Dragon for several years now, and it's still the only place of its kind in all of Charleston. Books, Comics, RPGs, Action Figures, Weapons, Incense, Card Games, Board Games ( an impressive selection too!), you name it. It's an excellent nerd store.

Despite the great selection, you cannot help but agree with other reviewers: The owners are what make the place special. Scott and Adrianna are well-known to storegoers and are always there to provide you with a familiar welcome. They're very willing to give their time and attention as you peruse for whatever your heart desires.
