I went there August 24th and was very disappointed. The park looks nothing like the pictures. There is no parking and I wasn't sure where I could park without getting a ticket. I didn't want to park far because it was very hot out and I didn't want my child to have to walk far. When we got to the splash park, the gate was locked with no explanation as to why. I didn't learn why until a little later at the playground. Apparently the splash park is closed for repairs due to dangerous conditions after being used. So, in order to not waste a trip, I let my kid play on the playground. Worst decision I could've ever made. The playground has no shade whatsoever and with temperatures being so high lately, the equipment was very hot to touch. My child went down the slide and got a bad shock. Within a couple minutes of her telling me she was shocked, she had developed two blisters on her fingers. If you come here, play at your own risk and come on a day that...

The city of Charleston keeps their community in mind, bringing fun and exciting things for their people to enjoy. Magic Island Park doesn't fall short and definitely doesn't disappoint. It is located beside the Boulevard on the river front giving it's visitors accessibility along with an amazing view of the river. Weather you take advantage of Magic Island's free parking or you use the walk and bike path to get there, you won't be disappointed but you will always find a good time. The Park holds several sand volleyball courts, swings and slides, a field with plenty of room to enjoy and the newly added Splash Pad that the whole family can take a part of. There are bathrooms accessible to the public. Come out, bring the family and enjoy your city with...

Trash laying everywhere, one bench to sit at over at the splash pad area, no parking so you walk across a busy street. We had a city worker who could carless and blew past my 3 year old and husband while they were walking across the street blowing his horn at us. He is extremely lucky he was driving fast enough I didnt catch his plate number on the buisness truck. Not very impressed with charleston at all, to find a nice park with a splash pad that is still open...

The pictures on Google were definitely deceiving because it was probably taken when the park first opened. It has since been abandoned and forgotten. Not kid friendly, very dirty, and unsafe. Posting this so others know the current condition of this place so they don't make the same mistake we did. It was a complete disappointment and would certainly not recommend it.
