My wife, 10yo daughter, and 1yo song (huge help!) have become escape room fanatics and will look for one in whatever city we happen to be visiting. On our way home from a week vacation at the beach, we looked up rooms in Charleston since we decide right through there. Locked and Coded came up as one of the top searches so we gave them a call to see if they could accommodate the youngest and see what they’re stipulations would be for trying to get a private room.
We were more than amazed when they told us we’d be able to have a private room without having to pay for all the spots in the room, because they love when families do this sort of thing together. This is not the response we get lost places. We’ve been very lucky to have great experiences, as long as we book the rooms late enough to have nobody else join at the last minute. We understand that having a baby in a room can be a distraction and wouldn’t want to bother others who have paid good money for a fun experience. One place we called in Myrtle Beach was going to make us purchase a spot for the baby!!
Not so with Locked and Coded. They reserved a private room over the phone and even talked to us about our precious experiences to get an idea of which room would be enjoyable for us.
We had a wonderful time, even though we didn’t make it out, and will absolutely be back for another...
Read moreWe had an awesome time at Locked and Coded! My husband and I went there for our 15 year wedding anniversary and did Drone Down just the two of us. Because it was just the two of us, we picked this room for it's 6/10 difficulty level so we had a better chance of breaking out. We escaped with about 7min left which really made our anniversary that much better! :D But let me tell you, it wasn't a walk in the park either!
We had completed 4 other breakout rooms with others in the past (only failing one) and so even though it had been a year and a half since the last one, we felt nervous-excited but still ready, and I think it ultimately helped in our final escape. This room I'd classify as mostly a generation 2 (having only 3 actual locks needing opened), the rest is full immersion -- super fun!
Definitely check out Locked and Coded and we plan on coming back with our kids soon!
P.s. when they say they have super limited parking they mean it! Some in the front (about 3-4 spots) and some in the back (about 3-4 spots). To the left is authorized-only parking for a post office but apparently the right side (lawyer) parking is ok and approved for use despite it saying "private". Just a...
Read moreVery friendly staff/owners are great. Very nice escape rooms, along with optional photos that you can take afterwards. Me and two others went here for our first experience at an escape room, and decided to tackle the hardest 9/10 witch's cavern. Well, it is no joke. Very thoughtfully created room with various puzzles and coding deciphering clues etc to escape. Not to mention when you finally get out , your not really out, it goes into another small room where you start over trying to get out of that room. Brilliant idea and great room full of designs and future mechanism's and triggers, along with custom made works, and props. If you get stuck they have game masters watching and monitoring you, and they can give you up to 3 clues. . We really enjoyed ourselves, and had a wonderful experience. Mostly due to their friendly/staff/owners, and awesome creativity. I'd recommend to try them out at least once if you are in town. .. Tell them . ( Michael McCormick,) sent you. For an...
